Good for the price, and seems a sturdy rod, but....
Although I am impressed with this rod for the price and design, there are a couple of negatives. The screw-fitting to secure the reel is coming undone a little too easy and the depth of the slots for the reel foot is quite short/shallow. Maybe my reel is a little to big for that rod but still. There is a simple fix. I can use some sturdy tape or grading tape to make not vibrate the fittings loose. I'm sure smaller reels will fit perfect. If I was the designer, I would make the fittings slightly longer and deeper. There is no hook-rest on the rod....same again....easy fix (see photo)...I made one myself. bent a piece of metal rod. took some 8 thread wire and wrapped it around the rod. fixed it in place and protected the wire with some water proof glue...Kazaaam...done. However, shame such a simple thing is not standard on this rod. It is not the cheapest rod, so I think it should be included. However....It is a really good rod....for the price. The line rings and its fittings seems sturdy and well made. They seem to sit well attached to the rod, but as we know with ANY rod, at one stage or another One of them will come loose. Always be prepared and have a little glue tube in your fishing box.The rod is small enough for my backpack and strong enough to take on medium size fish in a fight and strong enough to fight smart against larger fish with loose drag to tire them out. Be smart and let the fish do the work before you land it.Happy days

Seems like good value for money
Very nice travel rod. Good casting ability. Only 4 stars for now as can’t comment on longevity. With fishing rods you tend to get what you pay for so I’m not sure how long this will last.

Brilliant rod
I've picked up a few telescopic rods and this has by far been my favourite of the bunch. Lightweight, comfortable, and after catching lots of little perch, roach and tench it even handled this carp without a problem 👌 brilliant bit of kit, especially for the price.

flimsy and brittle
Didn’t get to fish with it yet and it broke. The rod got stuck open and wouldn’t close down. I tried to twist near the eyes of the rod to try and get it to close down and it snapped.I’ve had many telescopic rods in the past, this one is the worst one I’ve ever had. Would stick to bigger brands in future.

You get what you pay for
Looks like the ring is either bent or welded badly.

Not a very secure reel seat!
This rod is designed for light fishing. That involves using an equally light reel. There lies the problem. The reel seat does not hold a reel with a small foot, securely. When I screwed the reel seat tight, the reel still wobbled! However, the rod itself is really good quality. So, instead of returning the rod, I used my engineering skills to modify the reel seat. There was lots of filing and filling involved and then a respray. It now looks as good as new and holds my reel perfectly. As an engineer, I enjoyed the prospect of modifying the reel seat, but for those concerned that their lightweight reel will not fit securely in this rod and don’t want the hassle of a modification, pass this by.

Nice smooth action
Nice smooth action, had fun catching 5lb catfish in USA.Didn't catch anything larger, but think it would cope with up to 20lb, beyond that i am not sure... but at this price what is the worse that can happen :-)
