Pet fell ill after eating
My dog fell ill and started vomiting and having loose stools after this packet was opened. She has eaten wellness before but looks like this was a bad batch. So disappointing to see a good brand like this is selling food that is not of a good quality or has some defects. The food smelt rancid as well.

Didn't agree with our standard poodle puppy
I hesitated before leaving a negative review. Every dog is different, and there may be underlying health issues, allergies, food sensitivities, etc. that have to be accounted for. There may be nothing wrong with this food. However, in the spirit of full disclosure, introducing this food to our new puppy coincided with an extended bout of digestive issues. Our puppy loved the food but it did not love him back - he went from consistently alerting us when he needed to go out and having solid bowel movements to intermittent urinary and fecal incontinence and very loose, almost liquid stools. After several trips to the vet to confirm no worms, infections, obstructions, etc. we are making progress toward better digestion and hopefully a healthy puppy, but we won't be finishing the rest of the bag we bought - not worth the risk. This food may agree fine with your dog, but if you see some symptoms of digestive issues after introducing it, trust your instincts and switch off of it to something else.

I expect it to only get better as she continues to have this food
I never write reviews, but I have to say that this food is a miracle!! When we brought our puppy home at 8 weeks, she was being treated for worms. She kept reinfecting herself and I cannot tell you how much of a nightmare it was with 10-12 diarrhea movements a day. After about 6 weeks, we managed to get rid of the worms, but by this time, her stomach had become so sensitive, we could NOT get rid of the diarrhea. I was feeding her canned pumpkin on a regular basis and the diarrhea would clear up slightly, but when I stopped it came back again. One week ago, after searching the internet and deciding to try Wellness dog food we started introducing it to her. I cannot tell you the difference this has made. We did switch it a little faster than suggested, but 2 days ago her bowel movements began to change, they have gone from about 8-10 a day to 4-5, with formed stool, although still slightly soft. I expect it to only get better as she continues to have this food. Finally at 4 months, we have a puppy who we can enjoy and allow more access into our home, basically because of this change in her diet. Thank you Wellness...thank you.

transition SLOWLY to avoid diarrhea, well worth it!
Like several others have reviewed, my puppy suffered horrible diarrhea when I switched her food. I was so disappointed. The quality of this food , the price comparison to other GMO free foods was attractive. I researched it and felt rather guilty for my spontaneous poorly planned switch. As I have learned; the switch should be gradual, this is what I found out:The simplest way to change foods is to blend the old and new foods together for a week or so. Start with a mix that is 25% new food and 75% old. Feed that for two or three days, and if there are no upset tummies or loose stools, increase the blend to a 50/50 mix. Again, feed that for a couple of days, then increase to a 75/25 blend, and finally to 100% new food. If at any stage there is a tummy upset or the dog’s stools become loose, then hold off on increasing the amount of new food in the blend until that problem resolves. If there are no problems at all, it will take a week to ten days to accomplish the switch.********After having acclimated my puppy to this new food for 3 months now, I am thrilled with the results. She is the picture of health, firm stools, wet nose, super shiny and silky coat. She is black so the dander and dry skin shows up easily with every brushing, but no more since switching to Wellness food. I mix her dry food with the wellness canned puppy food and I will be using the wellness treats to supplement my homemade dog biscuits. I love this food (so does my pup), and the confidence knowing I am feeding her high quality, non-GMO food. I recommend highly, but DO switch SLOWLY!I recommend to the Wellness company to put info on the package about slowly introducing this new food. Their rating would be 5 star across the board if people knew how to switch food properly.
