Best Brad Meltzer work yet
We love all the Brad Meltzer “I Am” biography books but this one is especially wonderful for portraying both the genuine challenges Temple Grandin struggled with (due to autism) and her creative insights and successes (also due to autism). It’s helped everyone in our family understand autism and neurodivergence. I never write reviews but this book means a lot to me and I think everyone should read it.

Finally!!!
As a HUGE fan of all Brad Meltzers books I am the most excited about this one. My autistic daughter (she says shes autistic not has autism) loves his "I Am..." series and she knows about Temple Grandin. Finally being able to see someone like herself in a book was such a joy and blessing.

Ordinary or Extraordinary
Temple Grandin is just an ordinary individual who changed the world. This story shares of Temple's life. The challenges she faced such as difficulty in communication, social settings and sensory processing. The story follows Temple's life of how she overcame them, and what makes her extraoridinary. How her differences helped to make her shine, stand out and change industry. The illustrations wonderfully done, fun and engaging. The end includes a timeline of Temple's life and pictures from various times in her life. The first time my son read this book, he shouted with such excitement. He said over and over again "just like me." This was the first time he read a book with an Autistic individual. A real individual. One that faces similar challenges in navigating the world around. We had just started to talk with him a couple month prior that he is Autistic, and starting to navigate discussion on what is Autism. This book sent me on a journey to find more and more books with Autism themes, Autistic character and/or books by Autistic authors. It was wonderful to see my son connect with this book, with this character, with this person. And to realize he is not that different after all. Also showed him he is capable of so many things, even as a 7 year old boy.

Another Fantastic Book About a Real Hero
Brad Meltzer is a master of taking the challenges of real world heroes and translating it for children to understand. This book, about one of the most famous autistics in the world, it PERFECT for introducing children to some of the traits. I still stand by that adults could also learn a lot from the book series. It reviews a broad introduction to her life, while really focusing on the difficulty of her childhood and desire to find her place in the world. As the parent of a child with autism, this one is one of my favorites of Brad's. Should be in every elementary school and home library. The artwork of Christopher Eliopoulos is stellar once more as well.

Children Education
Awesome book ! My daughter is on the spectrum and totally related herself to this book. She also has others by the same author and they are a great learning tool for children to learn about important people in our history
