Garmin 010-10747-02 Dashboard Mount

The best thing ever. I have a small space in my truck, this fit perfect.

Got this because the supplied windshield attachment device does not hold well enough. The Garmin kept falling off onto the floor or into my lap as I was driving. This fits on a convenient level spot on the dash of my Subaru Outback and works great. It has not budged since I installed it. It just work.

This is perfect. Even with a suction cup pad stuck to the dash my old numi66 kept coming off and ending up in the floor while driving. This mount replaced that pad and locks in the ball arm that attaches to the GPS. No more suction cup failures. Great option for portable GPS's that can use it. Plus you can remove the arm when you aren't going to use it so it doesn't look useless when GPS isn't needed. Packs away in the same space as the suction cup arm. Love it.

First, the base simply does not stick. Did everything according to the instructions (flat surface, alcohol prep, wait 24 hours before using). I even put a heavy book in top of the base for a day to make sure it it really, really secure. Once I installed the GPS, the mount didn't last a whole day before the whole thing started to tilt forward.Second, the rattling of the arm assembly drove me crazy. Even though I made sure it was installed correctly and locked, it was still loose enough to rattle.Even if the mount had stuck to the dashboard, I would have wanted to get rid of it due to the mechanical flimsiness.I expected more from a Garmin product. Even the el-cheapo suction mount that comes with the GPS is better than this thing. What a waste of money. Very disappointed!

the 'permanent' sticky pad meant to adhere this unit to the dashboard simply DOES NOT WORK on my car ((a Subaru, which doesn't have an *overly textured* dashboard)). included are two sticky pads - thankfully? - and i went through both of them according to instructions, cleaning the mating surface with alcohol, pressing firmly, letting it sit for 24 hours ((72 hours, the second time)) before attaching any weight. but both times, in the heat of the day, they came un-stuck with the GPS unit attached the very first day i used them. on my dashboard, this means the GPS unit itself crashes into the floor of the car just 1/4 mile before i have to make 3 turns in rapid succession in an area i am totally unfamiliar with. not safe.so -- a little ingenuity later, and after shelling out about $8 at the hardware store for some plastic-to-plastic epoxy, i now have an *actual* permanent mount GPS holder. which is beautiful.once the issue of actually mounting the thing to the dashboard was settled, this thing performs wonderfully. i can remove the GPS and replace it with ease, turning it and adjusting it *just so* for different drivers of different sizes, and i never have to worry about a stupid suction-cup mark on my windshield, or having one fall off into the floorboard at *just the wrong moment* again. i can even put up my windshield sunshade without taking the GPS down.4 stars for the *permanent mount* not working AT ALL. i think Garmin should have included a tube of epoxy instead of those worthless sticky discs. other than that, it's great.so great that even though that is a really big issue, and i should have only given it 1 or 2 stars, i feel like it may work on other dashboards and i've already forgotten all the trouble i had getting it attached, being so in love with the fact that my windshield is experiencing a freedom it has never known!

After many years, the plastic rim of my Garmin mount that is glued to the dashboard of my motor home finally gave way. It would no longer hold the Garmins's I've been getting over the years. I ordered this mount which was quickly delivered. It came with two permanent adhesive pads (my old one was a temporary pad that lasted 12 years!). I used one of the pads (like double sided thick tape) to place this mount on my dashboard where the old mount had been installed. The next day, this new mount was rock solid.The mount works great. It is holding the 7" Garmin that I use in the motor home very steady on bouncy roads. After the first week of use, and about 1,000 miles of travel, I can report I'm very pleased with this dashboard mount!

I had the Garmin Street Pilot 2610 which was stolen and now replaced by Garmin Nuvi 760. The old GPS had the permanent dash mount which is still on my dash. The base is exactly the same as this item except without the "arm". The "arm" fits perfectly in the old base and my new GPS fits on it perfectly without having to fear the unit may fall off of the suction device since I had the permanent mount for >2 years now.I had the beanbag for the old GPS before, one day I stepped on the gas hard and the gps landed on the shifter and broke the screen. That's why I decided to mount it permanently.
