Excellent for travel
These offer a high level of compression, as advertised. Getting them on could be an Olympic sport. However, I recently traveled to Europe and after more than 21 hours, my feet and lower legs were in admirable condition thanks to these. I am 5”11”, about 200 pounds, and these pulled up very high on my thighs - any higher and they would hit my hips. That seemed a bit excessive, but they did not bunch up thanks to extra rubber grippers in the bands at the top of the stockings. For men, it is an awkward sensation, but the benefit of wearing them outweighed the awkwardness. They did not prove to be too warm or cold, at least for me, and I wore them for a short time in a humid tropical environment without discomfort.

Trade-offs are worth it
In name-brand hosiery for lymphedema, the top band was too tight and digging into the swollen lymph tissue and creating a lot of pain. This brand has a more nuanced compression at the top to fit my thighs while maintaining a great compression for the calves. My measurements are distorted because I compressed the calves for 20 years without realizing the thighs were getting worse. Drawback: These are unusually short so petite people are going to love them! As a taller woman, I had to purchase neoprene thigh sleeves from the athletic department to make up for the difference. I rotate those with compression pants and am finally making progress on the lymphedema in the thighs. These hosiery are much tougher and more resistant to snagging than my previous name brand. They aren't as pretty but I cover all of the time so nobody sees them. If I had to dress up, I would switch to a different brand. Definitely a great price for the wear and frequent replacement for lymphedema wear.

Very firm compression
When I found I had to wear thigh high compression stockings instead of knee highs and also go to a firmer stocking, 30-40mm instead of 20-30mm I was rather apprehensive, but stockings are not as bad as I feared. Not to say that wearing these monsters is fun but they certainly do the job they are designed for. You need to remember they are very high compression but I didn’t find them much more difficult than the knee highs I had been wearing. You do need to take your time and not rush things and 10 minutes per leg is probably a good estimate of how long it takes me to get them on. Once on they certainly do their job and my legs feel so much better. The are very very tight, but the compression feels good throughout the day. I had thought I would need to wear a garter belt to hold them up, but it turns out the silicone dots at the top do a good job and keep them in place. They are made of quite a stiff fabric but they look reasonable and have plenty of room for my toes. All in all I would highly recommend these stocking if you need the very firm compression and will buy them again

Get the knee-high's instead
I purchased a pair of these, as well as a pair of knee-highs for my vericose veins, some of which are bulging above the knee. I made sure I ordered the correct size after reading comments on how tight they were, and still had difficulty not only getting them on, but keeping them on as well. The top "no-slip" bands cut into my skin badly, and while I don't have thin or toned thighs, they're not exactly thunderous either. I also felt pinching in the back of my knees whenever I had to bed my legs, like sitting in a chair for any given amount of time. And getting them on takes about ten minutes. No joke. Getting them off isn't exactly easy either. All in all, they are supposed to give support and promote better circulation, and these did neither. I would highly suggest opting for a knee-high pair instead, which I've found are much more comfortable, easier to get on, and supportive.

They work for me
This is an odd review to do. Veins started creeping up legs over years and just recently tried these out. This is third brand and no idea how many varieties tried before finding this one. First ones that actually staid in place most of the day with minimal adjustment. As someone who works on feet and doing heavy work most days, it was amazing how much difference these made vs the below the knee circulations socks. Already bought second pair and likely to get more. Feel weird wearing them and when any adjustments are needed, thankfully it is minimal compared to other brands tried and such. For anyone whose calves and quads are larger than knees and so you do not look like those straight legged models, these actually work. Not sure how well they would stay if I worked at a desk, but for those who on their feet, they hold up well.
