What is the source of the dextrose used for this tryptophane? Is any part of it sourced or manufctured outside the US?

There is no dextrin in the Pure Encapsulations L-Tryptophan. The l-tryptophan is sourced from the USA and the pyridoxal 5’ phosphate is sourced from China. As with all raw materials, each batch of ingredients received by Pure Encapsulations is tested upon reception for identity, potency (if applicable) and contaminants, which can include heavy metals, residual solvents, allergens, pesticide residues and others depending on ingredient and level of risk. The raw materials are blended and encapsulated in the USA.

Pure Encapsulations - L-Tryptophan contains 6.7 mg of Vitamin B6 and 1000 mg of TryptoPure per 2 capsules.

is this made from GMO corn?

All Pure Encapsulations ingredients, including those derived from corn, are GMO-free.

Is this made by fermentation?

L-Tryptophan is derived from corn dextrose fermentation. The corn dextrose fermentation process starts with isolating dextrose from corn (a sugar, so does not contain allergenic corn protein), which is then fed to micro-organisms. The micro-organisms produce these nutrients, and the nutrients are then isolated and purified away from the starting materials. While no corn proteins or sugar remain in the final product (and Pure has tested with negative results), they do not routinely test for corn allergens and therefore they would not be able to guarantee its safety for someone with a corn allergy. It is generally well tolerated by individuals who are corn sensitive.

I use every day, helps me a lot

I don’t use as directed, I take 3 in the evening. 3 hours later, I get groggy enough to fall asleep. For me, 3 hours later I burp a lot but after 10 mins or so it’s much easier to sleep. I took advilpm and 4xcedrin pm for decades, and I like that this is a natural remedy.
