A Camping Spree with Mr. Magee: (Read Aloud Books, Series Books for Kids, Books for Early Readers)

Chris Van Dusen has written another very good childs book, "A Camping Spree With Mr. Magee" is a very entertaining story with very imagination provoking illustrations about the misadventures of Mr. Magee and Dee as they perch themselves on a cliff area over a rushing river. As you may notice is Magees yellow car that is drawn in some of his other books and his dog is exactly the opposite variety of colors then Jacks from "If I Built A Car". The quality of this book is exceptional and age 6 or 7 would be about the correct age for a young reader to read this, but younger children will enjoy being read this book to.

Book was in great condition. This is a household favorite. I highly recommend this author.

I have a 3 and a 5 year old boys. My 5 year old is pretty good at staying calm and focused during our 30-min reading time before bed, but my 3 year old is all over the place! This book HIT THE SPOT! It kept him SO engaged and interested, and he didn't want to stop reading books! I am going to have to buy all of them. The art is also really wonderful. The rhymes are perfect. The story is interesting and fun (and funny at the end), and kept everyone wanting more. A sure great find!

We have all of the Mr. Magee books, as well as, a couple other Chris Van Dusen books. My five year old loves this Mr. Magee book the most and so do I. It is a fun-filled adventure that only Mr. Magee and his dog Dee can have. There is a camper, a waterfall, a bear, and marshmallows - what more could you want in a story!! We have been reading the Magee books since my son was three and he still loves to hear them. What is even more amazing is that I still love to read them. This rhyming story is just funny and thoroughly enjoyable. I highly recommend all of this author's books. His illustrations are beautiful and tell a humorous story all on their own. If you do not own any Mr. Magee books then I would start with this one. A CAMPING SPREE WITH MR. MAGEE is a wonderful addition to any child's personal library. Happy reading!!

As a retired social studies, teacher, and the father of four grandchildren, I can truly say that my grandchildren love when I read them these books. The rhyming pattern is great, and the illustrations are superb. Simple stories, that convey the messages of life. Check out his other two books as well.

Read this sweet book to my 2nd grade class and they enjoyed it. It was part of an inside "camping" day. Cute story.

Great art work, engaging story, granddaughter approved. Only drawback is the choice of print color blends into illustrations on the pages.

What a great adventure for my class. I used this as a read aloud with my 3rd graders, they loved the rhythm and rhyme and I loved that they were engaged in this book. Several reads after the first read and they were noticing the illustrations, which are helpful in visualizing the story. Great book for all ages!

I bought this for my grandson. There is nothing about this book that I don't love! The story is both exciting and funny. The artwork and illustrations are incredible! I love the retro look. The pages are colourful, action-packed, and just beautiful! This will be a cherished book that is read over and over! I will definitely be purchasing the other two books in the series.

My two boys love this book. It's a lovely rhyming read and a good bedtime story, which is just the right length.
