Melissa & Doug Toy Keys and Cars Wooden Rescue Vehicles and Garage (7 pcs) Toddler Pull Back Toys, Toy Garage for Kids Ages 3+

I bought this Melissa & Doug rescue garage set for my toddler, and it has been a huge hit in our house. The set comes with three wooden cars and three matching garages that lock and unlock with color-coded keys. The keys actually work like little locks, which my child thinks is the coolest thing — he loves matching the colors and figuring out which key opens which door. The wooden firetruck, ambulance, and police car are sturdy and roll smoothly, and the matching keys make it extra interactive. What I like most is that it encourages problem-solving and fine motor skills without feeling overly “educational.” My toddler just thinks he’s playing, but he practices matching, locking/unlocking, and putting the cars away. It’s also been great for independent play — he will sit and open and close the doors over and over. Definitely recommend for your little ones!

High quality toy that holds the attention of my 2-year-old. It's well made and has lots of features to develop fine motor skills. The cars and keys are color coded, which is nice, and the handle on top makes it easy for him to carry around.

This is quite possibly the best toy I’ve ever purchased, and far cheaper than most. My son is 2, we have cousins from age 6 months to 3 years over often, and they all love it! My son will play with this for 20-30 minutes even after having it for almost a year. Also, super durable, made from solid wood (all the 2 year olds love standing on it and throwing it around).

A lot of people are complaining that the keys are just willy nilly in there. Mine came with a key chain. It was plastic but could hold all keys and clip to the top handle. It was too flimsy though and kids broke it so replaced with a metal carrabeaner (sp?) you know those clips meant for hiking? Oh he loved that and I did too. I still give it 5 stars. I don’t buy my kids toys very often and so he was really aching for a toy and this fit the bill. He was able to figure out the lock mechanism with very little help. I had to reinforce a few times which way was lock and which way was open and how to pull key out. This only took about 10 min. After that he was off. It is particle board but seems sturdy to me. He’s sat on it a few times. No problems. Thrown it once. Did ok. I think the cars are solid wood. The door was a little stiff but loosens with use. No problem for him either. I love it no regrets Melissa and Doug always deliver.

This is a good quality toy for children. I ordered this for my home daycare and the kids loved it so much they were fighting over it, so I ordered a second one. The second one’s red key did not fit in the key slot so I returned it and ordered a replacement. The replacement’s keys worked just fine and the kids can now enjoy having both sets. It took me a while to realize there was a little lever you can push next to each of the garage doors that will help eject the cars from the garages, which is a nice feature. I got these on sale and feel they are a good value for the money, the colors are vibrant and my 2-4 year olds all love this toy.

I like this toy because it’s fun for play and or acting fine motor skills. It’s fun for my child to open and close to doors and push the cars in and out. The toy itself is a sturdy unit.I have had no problems with anything breaking. It was a little harder for my kid to learn to open and close the doors but he likes the toy itself.

Three year old grandson enjoyed this toy. Like many Melissa & Doug toys, it’s well made and fun.
