AudiovoxFLCAN Multi-Platform Canbus Enabled Doorlock Interface

I purchased this and the programming USB updater for use in my 2011 Ford F-150 and experienced an issue during the key programming portion and my car would not remote start with the programmed key. Well apparently, this module can only program 1 key 1 time. After many failed attempts to reprogram my key, I finally gave up and called tech support. It turned out that I had made a mistake wiring the CAN TX/RX wires at the ignition and therefore my key was not properly programmed onto the unit. They had to update their database to allow my unit to be re-flashed through their website. So tech support gets 5 stars! As mentioned earlier, this unit can only be programmed one time, meaning you can't take this out of your car in the future and use it on another car. You can however, re-flash the unit with new firmware that fixes bugs or adds new features. The bad part is, since July 2011, I haven't seen any new features get added for my vehicle, despite new features being added to competing units in the past few months. This is an all-in-one unit, meaning it is capable of providing transponder bypass, as well as making it more convenient to install a remote starter by providing wires for OEM lock/unlock, OEM arm/disarm, tach output, foot brake, door monitoring, hood pin, trunk pin, rear defroster, etc., so you won't have to search your vehicle for those associated wires. These features are, however, vehicle dependent. For instance, when I bought this for my F-150 I knew that all it could provide me at the time was the transponder bypass and nothing else. I'm getting ready to purchase this unit again for my wife's 2012 Honda Odyssey, only this time it will be providing not only the transponder bypass but also the rest of the features described earlier, plus more. Make sure you research all competing units before buying to ensure you are getting what will satisfy your needs. For what this unit can do, it's probably worth 5 stars. Unfortunately, for my vehicle, I can only give it 4 stars. I will provide an update when I install it on our new Odyssey.UPDATE 4/25/13: I have installed this unit in my wife's 2012 Odyssey and it programmed flawlessly and provided tons of features. It saved me hundreds of dollars by allowing me to install my own remote start/security system. It also saved me countless hours and lots of aggravation by providing access to my vehicles many features instead of me having to search for and tap into many vehicle wires. I am gladly upgrading my rating to a 5.

If you have never used any Audiovox mobile security/remote start products before, you need to have the programmer USB device and the software to program this with the correct setup for the vehicle you wish to install it into. You have to have the FLPROG USB interface. Otherwise, like all of their remote start and security products, this works well and will continue working for many, many years without issues!

The FLCAN is in my opinion the best and most reliable interface module on the market. Over the years I’ve tried a lot of offerings from DEI such as dball series and I have had problems, defectives, constant having to reset. In 6+ years I have NEVER had a FLCAN go bad on me or any idatalink module which this is based off of. I highly recommend them for any car alarm/remote start.

This and the iDataLink ADS-ALCA are the same product. This unit comes flashed with a Chrysler program by default, but is easily re-flashed with whatever vehicle specific ROM flash you need (you need to purchase the FLPROG module: http://www.amazon.com/Audiovox-FLPROG-Flashlogic-Interface-Load/dp/B0027UYASY to do this). You'll have to register for an account on the FLCAN site, and from there you can download and flash this module using the programmer above. This makes an enormous difference in install time for remote starts. Worth every penny for time saved.

I'm usually very skeptical about purchasing items online, especially when it comes to this type of equipment, but I figured it was worth a try since I'm doing what WOULD BE a very expensive overhaul on my car and I saved $100's by ordering online. I purchased the product at about 11PM March 29th and had it at my door step by 2pm March 31st (a day sooner than estimated). I used this piece in my 2007 Mustang paired with the Avital 5303L alarm/keyless/remote start set-up and so far, so good. I'm very relieved and the risk was worth the extra $40 I saved by buying online instead of in-store.

Item came quickly and had to have it ton go with the code ca 6553 alarm system. Saved myself 50 dollars and just had to pay to install it. Very Happy With Both products saved me alot in buying from a retail store that wanted 3 times what I paid for it. Would highly recommend this product to anyone buying the code ca 6553 alarm cause you may need it to install. I was quoted by best buy over 100 dollars to buy this product.

Worked perfectly. Easy to program and install

As a professional installer, this is my "go to bypass module". Keep in mind that it it fully upgradeable and has to have the correct firmware installed on it for your vehicle.
