I am a novice watercolor and acrylic painter (a couple of years now) and started using very cheap brushes to see if I even wanted to try this as a hobby. I've bought a couple of more expensive brushes as my understanding and work has improved and am starting to see how brushes make a big difference. These are not expensive compared to the 'professional' brushes I purchased individually and I stay away from animal products. I really like the way these hold their shape and prefer them for watercolor (maybe I'm just better with this medium) over acrylic but they are good there also. I've not attempted oils with these yet. I'd prefer a shorter handle but didn't see any available, also they clean up very nicely with the pink soap for cleaning brushes and don't stain like cheaper synthetics.

I'm just beginning to try my hand at painting, so my review is an amateur's perspective! This set has every brush shape I was looking for to get started. I find the brush texture exactly right for me, & haven't had any bristles get stuck in the paint, or come out during cleaning. I've used them with watercolors, gouache, and inktense pencils and color sticks. I recommend these to anyone looking for a good, short handled, reasonably priced, set of brushes. I'll more than likely be getting more soon!

I recently began using water paints again. This brushes set will be a wonderful option for water painting, cause they are easy to clean and easy to take with you! I have used these with both normal watercolor paints and with watercolor pencils, they both worked perfectly. The most important thing is they haven't leaked or shed!

My 15-year-old niece points to these brushes because she is a budding artist and she wants to expand the painting. These brushes are strong, look very beautiful, feel very comfortable. These are a very good buying price, so far, they have been very good to hang up.
