I got to say this little ballest that I bought for dirt cheap I cannot believe how effective and efficient it is working I'm not running air conditioning so if it gets to hard I just dim it down it works great thanks I will be buying anotherxhydro 1000 ballest

Highly recommend! Amazing! This ballast is extremely lightweight compared to older types. It is almost silent and barely vibrates. Super quiet and works great. I am going to replace all of my old ballasts with these as they wear out.

I have a greenhouse with four 1000 watt metal halide ballasts, fixtures, and bulbs, each on its own timer. I've been dealing with this kind of lighting for about 15-20 years. One of my current magnetic ballasts apparently burned out. After I ordered this ballast I figured out that my timer was bad and replaced it, and my old magnetic ballast still works. But I usually keep backup bulbs and a spare ballast on hand, so when I received this Xtrahydro 1000w ballast, I installed it, and the ballast turned on but the bulb didn't fire. So I unplugged it and waited about 15 minutes and put in a good light from another fixture and it didn't fire either. Finally I hooked this ballast up to another fixture where I KNEW the cable, the fixture, and the light were all good, and the bulb didn't fire. I had the brightness set at 100% and never changed it.So the ballast did not work. I'm returning the ballast.

quit working after 3 months. worked perfectly up till then, maybe just a bad unit. they refunded my money, would have sent a replacement if i had wanted one.

This ballast had the wrong plug for my Hydrofarm reflector. Most ballasts have a double plug on the reflector side just for this issue. This seems very wasteful but necessary. Customer service (China via email) was very helpful and even offered a credit to purchase an adapter locally. Said they would alert their engineers. Other than this I am very happy with the ballast. Runs cool and quiet. Small mounting footprint. Easy mounting.
