We purchased this futon mattress for use at our inn, where it serves as both a couch and an additional sleeping space. The mattress is comfortable in either position and feels supportive rather than thin or flimsy. The khaki color looks nice, and the overall quality is excellent. We are very pleased with this purchase.

This came boxed in a vacuum-sealed plastic bag of sorts, and as soon as I began cutting through the wrapping, it began to "inflate," as promised on the packing slip. It is NOT lightweight or small. We bought the Full Size (Double) for our standard futon frame, and I must say, it is really thick and well-cushioned. As it was still expanding with the atmosphere, you could hear/feel the coil springs that are in the center of the materials. After it has had about 2-3 days of adjusting outside the packaging now, it is quite comfortable to lay on briefly. I'm not quite to the 72 hours of letting it "rest" and expand yet, so I haven't laid down on it for more than a few seconds. We also haven't tried to fold it into the seating position, but I have serious doubts that it will do so without a fight. It's almost too plush and thick for being used as a seat for too long - it seems more fit to be left as a bed. If so, it is likely going to be a very popular mattress for our guest bedroom, as it seems to be made for sleeping comfort vs. sitting around on. That's fine for our purposes, but be aware that it will fight you at first if you use it as a couch. It also has a bit of a new odor that the packaging states is normal for a while until it breathes more. It isn't obnoxious or off-putting, so we don't mind. It smells like new fabric/material of any kind. The cover is a nice color of blue (our selection) and soft to the touch - not scratchy. I think we will be very happy with this purchase. I'll update the review after we have some time spent sleeping/sitting on it after the break-in period is over.

The material is a little thin. I am going to buy a cover so it lasts longer, but this is so comfortable!

I bought this mattress in 2023 so I’ve slept on it for a bit over 2 years now. I really like this mattress! I actually sleep on this mattress every night and I sit on it during when I’m home. I’m a bigger person (300lbs when I first bought it but about 250 now) and it’s held up beautifully. I don’t find it too heavy and I flip it by myself but I can see how it might be too heavy for some people. It didn’t have a bad smell when I initially got it which was nice. It’s thick and supportive. I leave it flat because my dogs prefer to sit on it that way so I haven’t had to fold it up but it is substantial so I can imagine that it might be stiff when trying to set the futon back to a sofa type position. I prefer to use a thick foam mattress topper on all of my mattresses so I’ve never slept on this mattress without one; I can’t really speak to how soft or hard it is without the foam mattress topper. I can say that after more than 2 years, I have no dips or sags and the mattress seems to be holding up well. I also use a waterproof mattress cover in case my dogs have an accident so I think that’s helped keep the mattress is great condition as well. It’s very easy to keep it clean that way. I’d definitely buy another one of these in the future.

Very nice futon mattress. Made more like an actual mattress vs the typical futon mattress. Very nicely made, heavy, and the springs inside make all the difference. Happy with purchase. Am sure it will last for years!

I bought this thinking I'd attempt to salvage my futon which is a nicely made piece of furniture. I went in with low expectations, knowing that Amazon has transformed into a minefield of Chinese garbage/knock-offs, grifters, and fugazi reviews. Unfortunately, my increasing cynicism was founded. First of all, this mattress is ugly. The cheap fabric makes it reminiscent of those from 1970s movie scenes of filthy NYC flophouse mattresses. For added effect an attached, giant mattress tag is there to remind you that it doesn't belong on furniture in your house, but rather in a $10 an hour motel. Or, under a bridge or in a abandoned warehouse. If this company were after current-day homelessness chic the only things they missed were the syringes and feces. Of feces. This thing literally stinks. It has an odor identical to a Harbor Freight cross vice, except that it stinks up your whole house and not just your garage. Make sure your HVAC is in working order when you unwrap it and don’t let anyone you care about sleep on it because they’ll likely get a year’s worth of unacceptable levels of ACGIH and OSHA regulated toxins in an hour. Maybe a Chinese "impermeable-hermetically-sealed-mattress-cover-to preserve-life-product-with-3950-five-star-reviews-very-good-you-like-it-very-much-perfect-reviews" should be a "People also bought this" purchase. Comfort? No. This thing will break a normal ass. It's like sitting on a concrete park bench at 10 times earth's gravity. If you are litigious, order this and after 1 hour of use (assuming you survive the toxic fumes) you will have a legal claim involving some combination of deep vein thrombosis and spinal injury. If you’re not too bright and don’t immediately throw this wreaking abomination in the trash, then ask your oncologist to refer you to the nearest osteopath. My speculation is that this mattress is made of cheap, improperly manufactured polyurethane foam (the awful, and likely toxic, stink) and, if it even has them, springs with a Hook's constant not discernible from that of cheap ballpoint pens. This is the ultimate Amazon product. It's a $200, 100-lb piece of stinking, floppy toxic waste that's extremely difficult for a person to repackage and return.

The mattress is very comfortable. However it won’t bend into a futon frame couch. It has to be left in the bed configuration so we can’t use it as a couch. Disappointed in this aspect of the couch but it is comfortable as a bed.

This is the most comfortable futon mattress I have ever purchased. It has good support, but is plush and soft at the same time. The thickness is actually 8" instead of 10" but the comfort makes up for the shortfall. It had no odor, and easily folded to fit the mattress frame, unlike some reviews have mentioned. I highly recommend it.
