Exactly What I Needed for Minor Changes
Since I don't intend to make a living using this puncher, it did a great job for what I needed—punching clean holes in the strap end of an absolutely beautiful leather customized crossbody/shoulder bag from Oberon Design that I needed to shorten. The tool—that's easy to use & takes very little strength to make a clean hole—works like a pogo stick that goes nowhere but up & down. Plus, it's small & compact. So, it won't be in the way until I need it again. Because the end of the strap is fully enclosed between two separate pieces of metal, I needed to punch two holes of the correct size to fit over the two projections on the front metal piece—see those in the parts pic. After that was done & the strap end was fitted, glued, and enclosed, I needed to punch an additional hole of a different size in the larger body of the strap for adjusting its length for different needs. I did the work on a self-healing mat, using a 60mm rotary cutter for the shortening & then this punching tool for the three holes. (It took much longer to plot my strategy than it did to complete the job.) The photo showing 4 pieces contains the "original" metal end pieces, part of the strap that I cut off, & the end after the holes were punched & new end pieces were attached. As you can likely see, this is a very high-quality bag intended to last until the end of my days. (Note: no alligators were harmed to make it.) So, I didn't want to damage it with an amateurish customization. Nor did I want to involve the USPS by shipping it clear across the country to California & back or find someone local I could trust to work on it after inconveniencing someone to take it there. This solution was the fastest, least expensive & therefore the best. So, I'm awarding this tool 5 stars for helping me make it happen with the least amount of effort.

Works perfectly and easily
This tool worked perfectly for my purposes. Clean edge holes even on thicker leather, but it needs 2 or 3 pushes.

Works just like its advertised.
Great little tool, much easier to make holes than the traditional rotary head punch pliers. My only complaint is like the pliers, this kit only has the small size holes, good for most belts, but where is the big brother?

Slick Little Tool
Slick little tool for making one hole at a time Mine was a little oily out of the box, so try it out on some scrap first.

Get what you pay for, low quality
Over all a meh purchase. Pros: offers a hammerless style punch using a rotating body into the handle. Cons: the collet around the neck loosens every 10 punches and gets loose. The tip jams up with punches and requires cleaning out every 7-12 punches depending on the thickness of the leather. The tips seem to be full and not as sharp as one might expect. Typically had to do 2-3 punches per hole on standard 3 oz vegan leather. The tracking for the twists makes a good awful sound every punch so have music playing to cover it. It's not bad if you're just starting out but not for longer term use.

Nice punch

The mechanism is quite crude, the cutting blades were misshapen and got blunt after a few uses. Don’t waste your money
