Very durable and washable. A must for elderly and incontinence. If wide enough you can use it to lift patient and/or assist in turning them... A must to be used with disposable Chucks on top (puddle pads). Breathable and helps you to have bed sores ... nice weight and thickness. Get more than one so you can replace and wash, etc. This size 36X54 is wide enough for single size bed where you have extra on either end that you can use to lift and wide enough for butt coverage and a bit more.

These are good pads. Not quite as high of quality as hospital grade but they do work well and are much more economical than the hospital grade pads. I can't fault them or complain for not being as good as something three times the price. I've also tried the 4 pack of pads that were much cheaper than this one, and I found out there was good reason those were cheaper. These cost a bit more but you get what you pay for in this instance.

I use this with a disposable pad on top, solely to extend its use. Otherwise I’d be changing the pad daily, and I’m trying to cut down on laundry. I have used them by themselves and found them perfectly satisfactory. They absorb properly and are comfortable to lay on (the person using them is on them bare skin, so softness is important). The best thing for me are the handles. We use this pad to turn the person on their side. The person is around 300 lbs yet the pad has held up perfectly! One person on either side of the patient, one pulls the other pushes, using the handles. I honestly don’t know how I’d manage without these handled bed pads. Sure, hospitals will fold a sheet under the patient and use that to turn - grabbing a handful of sheet. The handles are much more comfortable for the caregivers. (Plus I think the ridges of a folded sheet could be uncomfortable for the patient.) I wash and hang up to dry. I’ve learned to wash them by themselves, else they pick up lint. It’s easily removed once dry though.

My 87 year old mother with dementia just had hip surgery and was transferred home and on bed rest. This pad was very easy to use. I was able to move my mom around in order to clean her, shift her up and down the bed and keep the mattress and sheets protected. It is machine washable but the urine smell did not go away completely after a wash. I still recommend the pad since it has the grab loops.

I bought several different sizes of protective pads to protect my bedding from a 14 yr old dog who suddenly began having accidents in her sleep or just as waking up. I decided smaller sizes would be easier to launder than one gigantic one covering the entire bed. And now, the rest of the story... The vet discovered she had a bladder infection, without the normal overt symptoms, and he suspected she had also developed an "old dog bladder". We treated the bladder infection, and I put her in cloth doggie diapers when she went to sleep because I was tired of dealing wet bedding. Then, I ordered the protective pads thinking maybe this was going to be a "forever" situation. She is a little dog who spends most of her time on my bed. It took two rounds (two different) antibiotics to get clean tests back from the lab. She was also put on specially blended hormones to treat the old dog issue. We're wanning her off them now because her "accidents" had stopped with the clearing of the infection.. Question was, was it strictly from the infection or was it a combination of the two causes and the hormones were working too? We'll find out when she's completely off the hormones. Meanwhile, I see no reason to keep her in the diapers when she isn't having accidents and I do have the protective pads I can place all over my bedding --just in case. Besides, this old dog could develop her own problems, as is quite common in us older two legged variety. I'm ready no matter what happens by whoever does it and that's what protective pads are made for. 4 stars because since I've had these pads, they haven't been officially tested.

I use this on the arm of my recliner for my cat to sit on. Very soft & durable. Wash beautifully.

Just what we needed for my dad. Worth every penny.

Mom is in home hospice care and I have been taking care of her. These pads can be changed one or more times a day and be thrown in the washing machine and dryer. We use these pads for my mother who has been bedridden since October 31st and it is now January 25th. We were using the smaller pads for her recliner but she progressed to the bed and is there full time now. The pads make taking care of her much easier.
