HI,The EP-E16 smart toilets one piece. When the foot approaches within 30mm of the sensing range, it will flush automatically(Small flush/1.1GPF).Foot sensing flushing, contact-free, innovative clean flushing way, convenient for men and people with bending difficulties. Thank you.

Can the automatic flush of this smart toilet be turned off? I don't like to flush in middle of night when partner sleeps

Yes. I never turned that option on as I use the remote or foot sensor.
