I needed a medium sized pot without a long handle for every day use, as I make modest amounts of soups and congees daily. This pot checks every box. Holds and distributes heat very well, fits on a small burner. I have been reaching for it for nearly everything lately, not just soups. I will sometimes to switch out the lid with a glass one from another pot, as I like to monitor what's going on - but no complaints about the lid. Good quality material, decent heft, slightly domed and tight-fitting with no vent hole, which helps bring contents up to temperature quickly. I bought this pan on sale in Nov 2025 for a bargain at $60, but I think this would be worth getting even at full price.

Great size for many different applications, and the stainless steel construct allowing this to be oven safe really means the possibilities are endless. I've used this for curry, braised beef, pasta, etcetc. Also super easy to clean -- the clad construct means the sides don't scorch easily and the shape and size are great for sauteeing / stirfrying. Great heat distribution. Really easy to clean too and really takes a beating. The only thing: be careful on induction as it's very responsive to induction and may burn easily if used on high settings. Keep this on medium and the heat will be sufficient for most purposes, even searing. Fortunately though the pot is quite thick so retains heat well. Overall not prone to burning and has been an absolute joy to cook with.

Been looking to replace my pots and pans. After research, Tramontina, "made in Brazil" Universal Pot 4 Quart- the right fit for my cooking. I was right. I use this pot to make homemade vanilla pudding with milk and sugar. On medium heat, no need to make it hotter, cooked perfectly. A word of caution: follow instructions on pudding to keep stirring and came out perfectly delicious. A word: this is made in Brazil, check the details.
