Sun Joe SPX6000C-XR iON 40V 5.0 Ah 1160 Max Psi Cordless Pressure Washer

First machine's auto-stop-start function didn't work. Amazon delivered a replacement unit and 2nd machine is working fine. Note the box that the 2nd machine came in had been opened and re-taped, and wax was applied at the joint of the handle/ sprayer. I had no issue with these as I saw it as a quality control step. So obviously Amazon/ the merchant has a special pile of stock that had gone through a test and passed and reserves it as replacement stock for customers who complained. How else could one explain every time a customer receives a 2nd unit, it works but the 1st unit is a hit-and-miss? Anyway, I use the Washer for washing the car. I require higher pressure for cleaning the alloy wheels and to work a foam cannon. It works fine for the former but not the latter. I tried it to do a bit of cleaning around the house such as the stains on concrete on the ground and window sills, it produces enough pressure for the job but I have to stick to the 15 degree and the pencil point nozzles which means it would take a very long time to clean a relatively small area. UPDATE AUGUST 2018... Still loves it. I learned from an online forum by replacing the orifice to my Foam Cannon 1.1mm or 1.25mm, it would work with low pressure washer. This cost me $8 and problem solved. I now get rich foam coming out of this washer! I did have the stop-start function fail on me but I just carry on using it. After 2-3 months, it miraculously kicks in and now the stop-start function works fine again.

EDIT 07/27/2018: Thanks to a review made by Nicholas P., my unit now works just as it should. To fix the total stop system on my unit, I took a few steps. First, I removed the inlet port and found two filters both covered in some sort of white powder. I rinsed those off and reattached everything but hooked the unit up to a garden hose. I turned on the water but left the unit off with the trigger pulled to try and wash out any remaining substance, probably from manufacturing. Afterwards, I powered the unit on, let the water flow for a minute and released the trigger. The total stop system finally kicked in and now I'm satisfied with spending the amount that I did. Original: It is ok for the most part. It will clean lighter and shorter tasks as it is a battery-operated unit. Can't expect much or even compare to current cheaper electric pressure washers. I bought this to wash my car as I live in an apartment that does not allow the use of a hose to spigot kind of wash. Out of the box, the total stop system didn't work. I did have the trigger pulled to allow for water and air to flow out before powering it on. For the price, I cannot recommend buying this product. If you need a system that will clean light duty and short-timed tasks, a cheaper option is the worx hydroshot with a 5 gallon bucket. One-third of the price and just as effective. The hydroshot seems to be equivalent in pressure with the 40 degree nozzles and the sun joe at the lowest setting. The concept is wonderful but the product is sub-par.

It is exactly what it claims to be - a stand alone unit that requires no external power or water. I have a 200' long dock with no power or water to it. I get a lot of large birds pooping at the end of the dock, but had no good way to clean it. This does the job flawlessly. So for performance and ease of use in situations like that, I would give it 5 stars. The adjustable power setting works great, and it has plenty of power for most normal cleaning tasks. My two big complaints are: 1. The wheels. The unit comes with roller blade-type wheels which are great for smooth surfaces, like say a roller skating rink, but horrible for outdoor use, which is what everyone is going to use this for. So far I have used it on an asphalt parking lot and on my dock. It did poorly rolling across both. It is very hard to control, and the water sloshes all over the place so you end up spilling 25-50% of it. Huge miss by Sun Joe not to use an all terrain-type rubber wheel, like on a lawnmower, for this pressure washer. I have not tried rolling it across grass yet, but I don't think it will work at all. Hopefully they fix the wheels in the next version (and make a retrofit available for existing owners). 2. The lid. The lid is a joke. It is highly necessary to keep the sloshing water from spilling out all over you and the pressure washer, but it fails miserably at this task. It does not lock or click down. It is just a loose fitting lid that really ends up serving no purpose. I'm not sure why it is there. Sun Joe really needs to improve this feature as well (and make a retrofit available to current owners). So in sum, if you need a pressure washer to clean areas that are not reachable by hose and electric cord, and don't want to invest in something much more expensive, like a gas pressure washer and external water tank, this is almost perfect. I used it again this morning to clean my dock and it works great. Sun Joe just needs to get to work fixing these two flaws and then they will have a five star product.

I was shocked at how powerful this little machine is, well you're certainly not going to get the pressure that you would from a large gas power pressure washer, this machine puts out more than enough for my resort to clean up the small jobs that we need to do and get up stains from our hallways. Its portability and surprising amount of pressure makes it a wonderful machine. I highly recommend it for areas that are hard to get into and jobs at you don't really need to pull out a large pressure washer for. I can't tell you exactly how long the battery life lasts but we've been able to do quite a bit before they've died. I do recommend picking up an extra battery so that you don't get left hanging in the middle of a job and while a little bit pricey the machine has performed admirably and I highly recommend it.

The first unit shipped had been dropped during shipping (the box was all tore up) and the LED's didn't work on first use. The second unit was delivered fine but at 2nd use the auto shut-off feature no longer worked. It is a really cool design and concept and did the job when it was working properly (thus 2 stars), but the quality of the unit internally is poor if something doesn't work by the 2nd use.

I got it with already with extremely low expectations as with all the poor reviews I had read thus far. I opened it up got it ready went out to use it and!...it turned on but no water was coming out of the handle...I called Snow Joe and they told me I needed to hook a hose up first to clear the valve. I let him know I live in Manhattan and hoses are few and far between hents why I wanted a battery powered hose-less power washer in the first place. I ended up talking to some porters at my building and got it hooked up to a hose to clear the valve and now I have to say it is now working like a CHAMP we even tested it on some weathered aged gum on the NYC streets and it lifted it up with little effort using the 1 degree tip. The Joes customer service is on point and I'm confident should something happen in the future I'll be taken care of. FYI my auto on/off seems to be working just fine so maybe they cleared that up. Just cleaned my terrace and I'm completely amazed! I got the 5Ah battery and went through three buckets on full blast and still had one bar left on the battery.

I had the choice to purchase this product from Amazon (Charges Sales Tax) or Sun Joe via Amazon (No Sales Tax). Me being cheap I went with purchasing this product from Sun Joe, which ended up being $21.73 cheaper due to the no sales tax. I received the product and had the same issues a lot of others complained about with the TSS (Total Stop System) not functioning. Knowing this is an ongoing issue with these units, I requested a return from Sun Joe and it turns out Sun Joe doesn't pay for the return shipping even on a faulty unit. So I ended up having to pay $23.00 for return shipping. Overall I enjoyed the product and was happy with it, minus the TSS issue. Normally I would have just kept the unit but considering I paid $300 for it, I expect nothing less than a properly functioning product. I like this product so much that I reordered another one (this time from Amazon) in hope that I get a properly working unit. Even if it doesn't work properly I have the peace of mind knowing that Amazon unlike Sun Joe, stands by there customers and will accept the return at no additional cost. I live in an apartment complex and don't have access to an outdoor water/power source so this was exactly what I need to be able to wash/detail my cars & motorcycles. I was able to power wash my motorcycle, the tile in my bathroom, and still had two bars left of battery power. I really wanted to rate this product higher but with receiving the faulty unit and then having to pay to return it is what earned it just 3 stars. If I may make a suggestion to Sun Joe for the next model of this product. Please give the option to be able to use an external power source. I mean come on for $300 you would think this would already be an option. I love the fact that I currently have the option to use this power washer with an external water source. But what happens when the battery runs out and I still have plenty of work left to be done? Would love the option to plug it in and continue to work while the battery charges. I received the second unit and work perfectly on the first two uses. On the third use the TSS function stopped functioning. I truly do love this product, only if I could just get a working unit. I thought I would give it one more try, went through the return process via amazon this time and of course amazon provided quality customer service. Amazon got the new unit out to me two days later and I also purchased the Sun Joe Foam Canon. I'm glad to say that I think I finally got a unit that works (for now anyway). I've used this unit 5 times already and had no issues. Also the Sun Joe Foam Canon worked flawlessly with this cordless power washer, just limited your expectation of the kind of foam this power washer produces. I don't think this has anything to do with the Foam Canon itself, it's just that this unit doesn't have the power to produce the foam of a 2000+ PSI power washer.

My second washer worked wonderfully for 2 years and then The Total Stop System stopped working. TTS for the first one never worked. Both machine got replaced under Amazon and Snow Joe warranty respectively. My second one was a replaced with a newer model (SPX6001c-xr) from the manufacturer. Customer service took 2 days to respond via email but after that was very responsive. I received the replacement in 2 weeks. I can tell from outside, the newer model had bigger rotating front wheels, rubber sealed bucket lid, integrated hose hanger. The pressure is not strong with the 40 degree nozzle but it is appropriate for car wash. The 0 degree nozzle will definitely hurt your fingers if you touch pressurized water closely. The biggest junk is the hard to manage and stiff hose. I replaced the hose with a Flexilla water hose with regular fitting to connect to a Mosmatic gun and reuse the original spray nozzles.

I was worried about buying this because you hear reviews about portable pressure washers not having enough power behind them, but this machine is awesome. Only used it once, so we will see how it holds up, but right now it's 5 star. Seems very well made and well designed.

Stopped working after 2 year and only used it about 10 times. I took care of it like a baby. Worked okay and was very usefull cleaning AC but not worth the money

Beware of these units, got a defected unit shut off valve failed immediately the day I got it. Very little support from customer service. I heard this is a common problem with these.

This is good if you need to get water with a bit of pressure to areas otherwise inaccessible. We use it to clean our pontoon boat and it would be better with more pressure, but at least it allows us to access the boat without having to haul it out of the water...
