Brand new to lathe tools, is there an attachment to make wood spheres? also, any additional attachments needed to make wood bowls? or good as is?

The lathe itself comes with a backplate but no chuck which is need to make bowls. I would recommend getting a WEN chuck because it is good for beginners and relatively cheap for chucks.

Just got into ring making and want to know if this is suitable for beginner/intermediate ring turning?

For wood rings, yes. You can get metal ring inserts made of sterling, titanium, etc. You will need a special chuck to hold your small work, or use hollowed ring blank secured to a dowel. When shape is finished, leave on lathe to sand and polish. Whoever told you no was presuming rings can only be made of metal.

I have this Wen 3424 lathe. Now I need some drill bits to do inside stuff

As long as you get a chuck with the righ taper then you should be fine. I believe the 3424 is a MT2
