SCICON Sports Aerocomfort 3.0 TSA Triathlon Bike Travel Bag

I got tired of being dinged for overweight baggage so it got this one. It rolls like a dream. On my road bike, i just removed the wheels and strapped it down. On my gravel bike, the wider handle bars required me to drop the bars from the stem.I've used it for several flights now. All good. HOWEVER....I would always remove the rear derailleur and zip tie it inside the frame. Five minutes of prevention will save you possible hanger damage.Update:, the negatives: i live in two locations and sometimes shuttle bikes and sometime the empty bag with the provided cover bag. The cover bag is okay itself, but it lacks a durable handle or straps to pick it up or attach airline luggage tags. The closure string is woefully inadequate to seal the bag closed and there is a lot of extra string when it is closed. The second trip I put this on a plane, the closure string was ripped from the bag. Fortunately, my luggage tag was on the added cam lock strap so I didn't lose the bag.

Flew from Oklahoma to Paris for the Ironman in Tours, France in June 2026 loaded up with a Quintana Roo PrSix 2 tri bike. This thing fit like a glove and traveled on four planes and thousands of miles. Everything was perfect upon arrival. We added a little bubble wrap around the back derailer just to be sure and some around the low bars. Can’t speak highly enough about this product. It might not fit every bike, but I can say it fit ours and kept it safe during transport.

We ordered two of these items just before Christmas 2012. They arrived in New Zealand quickly and we were able to use them as we took our bikes away with us over the holiday period. They worked well, remained in place on the bike and protected the frame and cabling from the MANY bugs and flying objects that used to splatter themselves over our bike frames. Well worth the buy and we will used them every time we take the bikes away.

Nice size but needed to disassemble the aero bars to fit inside. Rolls like an IKEA shopping card (good or bad.) I like the extra storage bag and padding inside. Built well and (after the first time) easy to use.

I love the it. I travel and my bike was super safe. I was afraid that some thing could happen but everything was great. The case it is super simple to used and tells you how to put the bike.

They Delete the bad reviews from their website! The first time I used the bag, the rear derailleur got bent in both directions during my trip. I had to fix it twice! I tried to return the bag and exchange it for a hard case from Scicon. I explained the situation, but Scicon didn’t respond at all. While Scicon's soft bags may work for air transportation, I ended up buying the protector kit for $260, bringing the total cost to $1,000.I traveled a second time with a brand-new carbon bike, and this time the frame got broken. Now, I’m facing additional costs of over $1,000 to fix the bike, which was brand new. Even if the bike is repaired, it will never be the same again.I definitely do not recommend this bag. The customer service has been non-existent, and I was expecting them to at least respond or offer an exchange for a hard case, even if I had to pay the price difference. Instead, they just sold the product without any warranty or support.

Don’t understand the fit issues others are having. This fit my 58cm Cannondale just fine. Very snug, but you need it that way for secure protection at highway speeds. I used this to protect my bike over 5 days from one end of Oregon to the other. Often at highway (passing) speeds of 80+ mph and 600+ miles. The important thing this serves in protecting the head tube from getting the grease blown out from high wind, let alone the bug splats. This works! And is holding up without issue.

This bag was designed with the user in mind. There are very clear instructions, signage and labeling - making packing/unpacking your bike mindless. The fasteners are perfectly located and everything cinched in to place snugly. The quality is great! Wheels are rubberized and roll smoothly. Zippers are strong and the material feels resilient.IRONMAN 70.3 Los Cabos (Nov. 5 2023) here I come!Oh, by the way. It was going to cost $225 from the airline if I disassembled and packed my bike in to a box. This bag is approved and counts as my included checked bay or only $40 additional if I want to add another checked bag.Complete game changer! Thanks SCicon for the great product 🤙🏼

Je l’utilise avec une porte vélo standard sur le toit ça pépère bien le vélo ! J’arrive à le mettre même avec les prolongateur qui passe au dessus !

Der Bike Defender von Scicon ist der einzige seiner Art, zumindest soweit ich weiß. Er macht, was er soll, und das macht er gut! Wer einmal mühsam nach einer längeren Autofahrt Insektenreste von seinem Rad kratzen musste oder sich über Lackschäden geärgert hat, wird das zu schätzen wissen. Ich würde mein gutes Rennrad jedenfalls nicht ohne so einen Schutz auf dem Auto spazieren fahren. Ob dadurch der Spritverbrauch und der Windwiederstand erhöht wird, kann ich nicht beurteilen. Jedenfalls ist mir nichts dergleichen aufgefallen. Volle Punktzahl für dieses tolle Produkt!

It is advertised for a TT bike. I have a large Giant TT bike and the armrest and TT bars will not fit into the bag. I need to take them off to fit. Not very good

Perfectly suits my Bianchi Aquila. The bike seems well protected. The quality of the materials is good enough. Let’s see how it will fly.
