I received the Celestron 93625 Universal 1.25-inch Camera T-Adapter on time as promised. The adapter met or exceeded the advertised specifications and was well constructed. It performed great on my Dynamax 8 as expected. I would recommend it for use when the camera is mounted into the telescope eyepiece holder. Your eyepiece holder must be sturdy enough to hold a SLR or DSLR camera body. I did not have any problems with focusing on my Dynamax 8. Balancing my camera/telescope combination took a little work since I was using a 90 degree erecting eyepiece holder on my telescope. A straight through eyepiece holder may be better. If your telescope permits removal of the eyepiece holder then you may wish to get the Celestron T-Mount or the Opteka T-Mount Adapter to fit your particular SLR or DSLR camera. I later used the T-Mount Adapter to attach my camera directly to my telescope and eliminating the telescope's removable eyepiece holder. I did NOT have any focusing problems with the camera T-Adapter or the camera T-Mount adapter with my Dynamax 8 telescope. The adapters are designed to be used with the camera lens removed. The Celestron camera adapter permits the insertion of a 1.25 diameter plain barrel eyepiece into the adapter to increase the magnifying power but this reduces the light greatly due to the added lenses of the eyepiece and from the eyepiece projected image onto the film or camera sensor chip. The reduced light will require longer exposures and therefore require manual tracking or a telescope tracking device (clock drive). When using an inserted eyepiece into the camera T-Adapter, care must be taken to make sure that longer barrel eyepieces do not obstruct the camera's mirror flip-up action.

GOTTA GET ONE OF THESE FOR YOUR ASTRO KIT!
I've used a Celestron T-adapter for astrophotography for the last year. While that one provides me with some amazing photographs, this adapter gave me the ability to attach my camera through the eyepiece hole AND ADD FILTERS to the inside knurled end. The image posted with this review is a quarter waxing moon with a green filter. Before getting this eyepiece adapter, I was unable to directly place the filter between the camera and the moon. I'm sure there are other solutions - photo editing being one of them - but I like something consistent and workable in the darkest of conditions. Can't beat attaching the filter directly to the optical tube right in front of the camera. I cannot wait until I use my 2x Barlow on this, for lunar observation! Note that the camera-specific rings were NOT included. You have to purchase these separately (e.g. Nikon or Canon connectors).

Not compatible with Newtonian reflectors
The description for this product does not mention that using this T adapater will not allow the camera to focus on many Newtonian reflectors because the adapter basically extends the focuser and will not allow it to travel in far enough to achieve focus with the camera. There are a few fixes for this. First, check the focuser on the scope to see if the eyepiece holder will unscrew and allow you to screw the camera's adapter directly to it. If not, you can purchase a 2x barlow (Celestron item # 93640) that includes a T-adaptor on it or a zoom lens with threads for a filter that will also allow you to directly attach your camera adapter such as Celestron's 8mm - 24mm item # 93230. Obviously, including a lens in the equation magnifies the image which you may or may not want. The most expensive and intrusive is to replace the focuser with an aftermarket focuser that will allow this to work. Other than the fact that it was not directly compatible with my scope, the quality of the T adapter was very good which is typical for Celestron products.

An adapter for Telescope. However, requires another adapter for camera to connect
The Celestron 93625 1.25 Inch Universal SLR or DSLR Camera T-Adapter is an adapter where it attaches to a telescope where the eye-piece goes. It is one of the adapters needed to make it work to attach it to a Camera. Essentially, If you have a telescope and want to attach a DSLR or Mirrorless camera on it, you need at least two items, an adapter that goes onto the telescope, and an adapter for you camera that goes onto the T-Adpater that is attached to the telescope. The adapter for your camera is not universal, so you have to search for your specific camera that you're using and look for one that adapters to T-adapters. For instance, I have a Nikon DSLR camera. You have to search Nikon F-mount to T-mount adapter. Once you purchase those two adapters, you can mount it to your telescope and have fun tracking down the Universe. Even though you are able to see things that are far of a distance, focusing can be an issue. You have to manually focus as you are not using any lens but an adapter only with no contacts. it takes a lot of trial an error to get it right and it is better to do it with a camera that has IBIS (In-body image stabilizer). without IBIS, your pictures will turn out blurry unless you use a wireless trigger to reduce movement and shaking from the camera. My Nikon D7100 does not have IBIS, so it was very tricky to get the shot. Another thing to know is that since you are shooting in the dark, getting the shot once you press the trigger can take a while since there isn't much light gathered into the lens, and for that you have to set a timer to leave the shutter open for a specific time, or use bulb setting to manually trigger on and off the shutter. The longer you hold the shutter open, the more light gathered into the sensor and can take the picture where you can see the object or result rather than pitch black if you were to not leave the shutter open. There is so much I've learned using these adapters to make it work for my camera and telescope. Don't let these things veer off because the end results are rewarding.

Mounting a Nikon on a Celestron telescope.
It fits correctly and gets the job done. You may need other adapters to work with your camera. For my setup, my Nikons have F-mounts, so I also need a F-mount to T-mount adapter. Then you have to readjust the telescope for balance with the camera hanging off it. The adapters aren't very expensive, so you're not making a huge investment, and they're nice to have around. If your camera will allow it, have it leave the mirror up. If your telescope isn't on a very solid mount, the mirror flipping will make the photo blurry. Also, touching the shutter button will do the same. I attached it to my laptop, so I could use that as my viewfinder, and trigger it remotely. That gave me very respectable results.

Great product, faulty product description
T-adapters can turn your telescope into an amazing telephoto lens and this one will work with any that have a 1.25" visual back. This piece has a 1.25" inserting slip connector which replaces the Star Diagonal on your telescope and the title given by Celestron is entirely misleading, it refers to a generic measurement of an inch (actually 1.25"). The faulty description continues in the product description: it WILL NOT FIT .96" visual backed telescopes such as the Celestron C90, or the Nexstar 4GT. In that case you'll need this part Celestron 93635-A T-Adapter for NexStar 4GT Those telescopes have a .96" visual back and the T-adapter has a female ring which screws over the visual back. In either case you still need a T-Ring to connect to your camera, be careful there too as there are now ones for 58mm digital cameras that are larger than the older 35mm. Getting Amazon to change these descriptions is difficult so hopefully this review can correct it.

Works great
I purchased this along with a Fotodiox T/T2 Lens to Canon EOS adapter and it all fit together perfectly. I've managed to get some really interesting shots with the extremely long focal length of my Celestron Astromaster 70. It comes with a spot for putting your telescope lenses in-between the scope and camera (where the little screw is in the photo) but that doesn't seem to work at all. Just screw this onto your T/T2 to EOS (or whatever type of camera you have) adapter, snap it onto your camera, remove the elbow from the back of your telescope and slide this whole assembly right in. Basically picture having the scope on the end of your camera like an enormous lens, that's how it's supposed to go together.

Great for moon-gazing
I purchased this t-adapter to attach my Canon EOS camera to my AWB Onesky telescope (using a Celestron t-ring). Once the t-ring was in place all I needed to do was screw in this t-adapter to the t-ring, and insert the camera into the telescope where an eyepiece normally goes. I was up and running and taking photos of the moon in a matter of minutes. The t-adapter is solid and Celestron is a brand I trust implicitly. Very much recommend!

Perfect Accessory for your Telescope Adapter to capture some amazing pics.
For my Powerseeker 70az was looking for a TAdoper and T-Ring to go with my Canon EOS D-600. Enquirers with camera accessory dealers turned out to be non-productive. Decided to try this. and it works like magic. You would need a TRing to go with this. I would say a must have accessory if you are a nightwatcher and own a DSLR
