Dare to be different Black Ice
Black Ice was without question, the devil. I have read about some bad/mean/sadistic characters, but Black Ice deserves a category all by himself. If satan has a twin; I am sure his name is Black Ice. This man was so diabolical and sinister that I could not read this book in one setting. I was so emotionally devastated by what Rachel and Michael, Jr. endured; I had to read a little bit at a time. It was unbelievable and wretched to read such vile actions.Michael, Jr. was a great kid considering what he went through. The love for his mother was stronger than the hate for his father and I do not think he even realized it. I mean, how his 6 yr old frame would try to protect his mommy and take beatings just as she did.... INCREDIBLE writing! When junior said, "Mommy, don't cry. I love you. Please don't cry. I'll always take the beatings with you."; I started bawling like a kid who got his bike stolen. I was like good Lord this is intense. He was just a little boy and he tried so hard to be a protector for his mom who took countless days of abuse, both mentally and physically. Just a horrible situation for anyone, regardless of age, to endure.I also felt bad for Ace. This dude was really clueless and I always wonder about men like him. Maybe they are so happy that they have a decent woman on their arm and have GTD; that they ignore the obvious signs. Ace got the shaft and did not even see it coming. But the reality is; there are a lot of birds on the same type of scheming demon shenanigans that Lisa was on. (I just gagged while typing that sentence) Caesar was a female made dude. From back stabbing his friend to trying to have other people do his dirty work. I was like, "Someone please kill this dude". But his demise had me boohooing again and it had nothing to do with his actual cause of death. Black Ice strikes again.I want to read the story behind Black Ice and how he evolved into such an evil creature. I think a prequel is a must due to the severity, of his reign of constant terror. This man is such a monster, this book should be placed under Horror.Child of a Crackhead was brutal in every conceivable way. Author Shameek Speight delivered a story that I have never read before and I am beyond impressed. I am eager to start part II to see if the flames burn brighter or turn to ash.Reviewed by Lizzy Linh K for Urban Grapevine Magazine

A Brilliant yet Hardcore Story About Thug life and its Victims
A Child of a Crackhead is about the lives of Michael Ice, Sr. and his son, Michael Jr.Michael Sr., who is known on the streets as Black Ice, is a drug dealer. He rules the streets as well as his home in a barbarism manner that leaves no doubt he's evil.He shows no mercy to anyone - including his own son. In fact, when he looks into Michael Jr.'s dark eyes, he sees a reflection of what others see in his own eyes: ruthlessness.Michael Jr. is only six years old throughout most of the story. However, his youth doesn't hinder him from protecting his mother, Rachel, from his father's barbaric nature - as best he can. He loves his mother so much, that the pain Black Ice afflicts upon her makes Michael's hatred from his father greater. There are countless scenes where Black Ice shows his heart is merciless; each scene seems to be more evil than the previous one. While some people might find Michael Sr. unbelievable, there are heartless people like him in existence, especially in the drug world. I'm sure most readers will discover that they either know or knew someone similar to Black Ice - regardless whether that person was involved in drugs. In my opinion, by no means is the author "stretching for reality." He wrote realistically, and he wrote it well!I liked how Michael Jr. was very protective of his mother - he was so strong at such a young age! The bond he and Rachel had was unbreakable even in the midst of her own struggles. He's the kind of loving and devoted son all mothers want.I truly despised Black Ice. How could someone be so cold to others without having any guilt? I especially detest the cruel things he did to his own son. In my opinion, it's like Black Ice "got off" on his own dirty deeds. It seems like he aimed to get dirtier in his actions every time he harmed someone. He wasn't kind to anyone. Nobody was immune from the venomous blood that ran throughout his evil soul.I thoroughly enjoyed this book. In fact, when I completed it, I missed the story. I missed it because I wanted to know what happened to the characters that were caught up in Black Ice's madness.I recommend this eBook to anyone who's curious about hardcore urban life. The author wrote this story from experience; so, it can't get any realer than what he's given us.It should be noted that this eBook is part of a series.

Hmmm...
So I like the book, but the spelling errors killed me. I liked the character development. In the end not sure what was real or a dream. Overall an ok book

Poorly written
I felt this was a violent version of fifty shades of grey. The storyline was weak but could have had more potential with an experienced author with a wider vocabulary. It was padded out with repetitive phrasing, many spelling mistakes and poor grammar in general.I actually paid for 'Child of a crackhead II' with the hope of giving the author the benefit of the doubt, hoping that perhaps there had been some growth in the writing; let me tell you, it didn't improve. The most repeated phrases throughout both books were 'feeling the nut building up' ' busted a nut' ' released his nut' Seeing a pattern? 'Pounding' was very high descriptor for the many gratuitous violent rape and general degradation of women 'scenes', featuring at every opportunity 'his 9" d***'!I find amazing that this author is hoping for around ยฃ5 plus for subsequent books. You have to admire his sense of humour!

HOOKED!
Not my usual choice of book by any stretch but something drew me to read this and I was not dissappointed in fact I was so entranced by the the story that I just had to purchase the following book which was equally as good. It is all a bit far fetched and in many areas unrealistic but it is still a page turner with lots of edge of your seat moments. The only negative point is the bad grammer and spelling but in some ways this actually adds to the story being told. First book was free and second only 77p but I'm holding off with the final 2 as the price jumps to over ยฃ5 each which is a shame as I would like to finnish the series.....

Excellent 1st book
Really enjoyed this book, I've read the 2nd and third but I refuse to pay over 5 pound for such a short book to find out the end so will just have to hope that the author reduces it because I feel that he has made it so easy to buy the 1st 2 at such a cheap price, then it jumps to nearly 6 pound for the 3rd book and then 5 pound for the 4th book so it's like you've been reeled in and then sucker punched at the end

A rollercoaster of emotions
This book is such a good read- I was as hooked to this story as the characters were to crack. Black ice is undoubtedly evil, killing anyone who crosses him, he gets woman addicted to crack just to have good sex and doesn't care about the major implications it has on their lives. Michael Jr has the worst life a little 7 year old can have, there were many times whilst reading this book when I cried because of how he has had to live his 7 years- his dad is the devil and his mum's life is turned upside down and right way up again. I really recommend reading this!
