Should have been standard on all miter saws, specially the DW713
Works great on my DW713 which does not even have screw holes, nor enough space for a regular clamp on the right fence. This is going to make setting up blocks so much easier. It's a lot bigger than it looks and it's very nice and solid. My only beef is that this should have come with the saw. I think it's an essential component.

Required Equipment!
If you are using this saw without clamps to hold what you are cutting, STOP RIGHT NOW if you value your fingers. Get one of two of these clamps! They are simple, well made and make your saw much safer. They can be mounted to the saw in a second, and can quickly and securely hold what you are working on. They have a quick release button and a micrometer type fine adjustment for tension. They swing out of the way easily when you don't need them. The rubber foot to hold the work piece is nice and big. Expensive? You Bet! Overpriced? Absolutely! But then again, you have to ask yourself how much your fingers are worth to you!

Excellent Indeed!
My instructor from a woodworking class introduced this clamp to me. We used them in our class. Later I bought a pair from Amazon. I used them on my slide compound miter saw. They are working beautifully and the best feature is that they are very easy to release. There is another one which is lighter duty. In my view, why don't I just buy a better pair?

Like 'em.
My review will mirror some of the thoughts in other reviews. These are quality clamps, very well-built and easy to use. They provide the safety you'd want while working with the saw. They do seem a bit pricey considering the size and simplicity but it's easily worth it. The only real "cons" I have is that I expected to be able to clamp items closer to the blade, rather than 4 or more inches away. Now for anything over 6 inches away from the blade I'm comfortable using my hands anyways, so I was buying these clamps with the hopes of getting them in fairly close. I also expected the clamps to "get out of the way" so that when I'm making complex cuts I don't have to work around the blade or motor hitting the clamps.

Massive --but really the price!
If your reading this you discovered that your Dewalt came without a clamp. This is the mother of all clamps. Heavy duty is the word I would use. Fits perfectly in the oversize hole in your Mitre saw. Reaches over the oversize fence on your mitre saw as well. I tried to find any other manufacturer clamp to use as a substitute but no this is it for Dewalt. You 'have to' buy this one if you want a clamp. You either return the saw or give up and pay the ridiculous price. Is it a $80 part. No. Its more like a $40 part. Do you have a choice no. Do you need 2? I don't think so. Its massive. Has a quick release on the screw down. Good size knob you can work wearing gloves. Does all this make up for the price. No.

Take the long view
A five star item that loses a star to overpricing. Not Amazon's fault -- seen them in the box stores for even more. Was working recently with 16' sections of cedar decking. Dewalt 12" slider on a good stand w/ 5' support on the left, so 10+' of unsupported lumber. The cuts were square but kept coming out slightly beveled, which left the butt joints on the deck too d@#m open. Went to the truck and dug out this clamp and cranked it down snug -- what do you know? No more bevel! That actually highlights one annoying trait of the clamp. I had to go get it from the truck. I've found that I can't leave it mounted on the saw without losing a good chunk of left bevel. Also interferes with any dust collection you may have hooked up. Was working inside on a rainy day so I had my fein vac hooked up. On a hard right miter cut, knocked the hose against the clamp which was swiveled around "out of the way." Of course I didn't notice and when I fired up shot dust all over the place. And of course the client walked in right at that very moment. My fix is to find some spot on my stand that's out of the way, boring a slightly oversized hole it in, and just leaving the clamp stuck in there when not on the saw. One of these days... So... well, I still think it's worth five stars, even if just for those cuts when you know your fingers are too close but you do it anyway, you know?

Ouch but nice
Just added this clamp to my new Dewalt DW718 sliding miter saw. This saw did come with one clamp but I decided that I better have another one for the other side of my material I would be cutting for safety measures. It would have been nice if Dewalt would have included this clamp instead of the one that came with the DW718 but I am sure to keep costs down we are lucky to even get one material hold down clamp. This DW7082 clamp is way better than the one that comes with the saw and is more heavy duty with a quick take-up button that saves a lot of time screwing the threaded rod to tighten the clamp. It would be nice to have both clamps like this one but I can't justify buying another DW7082 clamp seeing as now I have one for each side of the blade. This DW7082 material hold down clamp will now become my primary clamp though and the one that came with the saw will only be used when I think two clamps are really necessary.

This is the clamp the saw should have shipped with.
The clamp included with the saw was a joke. I was mostly relying on my left hand for work holding. This solves the problem.
