âš¡ Power your I2C bus with flawless speed and signal clarity!
The LTC4311 I2C Extender/Active Terminator from Adafruit supports a wide voltage range (1.6V to 5.5V) and high-speed I2C communication up to 400 KHz. It enables long cable runs up to 4000pF capacitance without requiring special firmware or configuration, ensuring clean, reliable data signals and robust multi-device bus integrity.

Worked well to improve my I2C signals
The i2C signals improved from 3V to 4.5V and had a good stability during the clock. It allowed a 10 harness to use I2C.

It does work.
Is the absolute answer, not really. While it has allowed me to run long distance cables for about 12 feet using paired audio cable, to run longer distance I had to resort to using RG6 coax cables. That in itself might not be a big deal as long as the cables aren't needed to be flexible or small. Trying to emulate the cabling on the Adafruit site didn't yield the same results as what the had shown. But in the end I would recommend using these as they have allowed me to use I2C connections a lot further than without the addition. And it's like anything else in electronics, adapt with what you got.

These work great!
I'm impressed. The current project using a Pico to read an RM3100 sensor on about 30 feet (not inches) of CAT5 cable. The LTC4311 works as advertised and I like Adafruit's breadboard friendly design. Perfect for prototyping, suitable for a build. I'm going to order a couple more of these things

Cool little board
This thing is awesome, I actually didn't use it as an extender however I did test it with a 6 foot cable for an i2c sensor and it worked without issue. I actually used It to add pull-up resistors for a connection to an oled as the board I was using didn't have them built in. It ended up working perfectly!

A Must for Long I2C Runs
Adafruit’s LTC4311 I2C extender/active terminator will improve the signals of your I2C buss, especially where the run lengths are longer. I used one on my outdoor rover build where the total I2C run was ~30 inches. With careful wiring I had acceptable signals when viewed with oscilloscope, but with the LTC4311 installed at the end of the buss I saw improved rise/fall times and sharper signals. I was impressed. I now keep a few spares for future projects.
