Great quality and plenty of it
Being one of those people who have allergies, for years I had to use Harmony because it was the only colourant guaranteed not to affect my scalp. Itchy scabs on your head is not a good look. So when the the company was sold and the product redesigned I was a bit worried, so much so that I even did the behind your ear test before actual use. Thankfully it was fine. First, you get an awful lot for your money, especially so since they come in packs of three. The tubes are large and you can easily get four or five uses out of each if you don't have long hair. Having worked in the trade years ago (ceased because of allergies), I can also say, which I did with the previous version, you can mix the contents with other colours, which I do, three of them. I still haven't got the exact colour I want but I am nearly there, just need a little more Coco and slightly less Hazel. You can't do that with the more semi and permanant products. The previous version I left on for around 30 minutes, this I can nearly get away with six minutes and it will still last around 8/9 weeks depending how how 'faded' you want to be. All the time it still looks natural. Taking into account, the price, the time it takes to use and the amount of product you get for your money, it's nearly the next best thing to sliced bread.

Fantastic but very temporary colour
I’ve been searching for a temporary hair colour that covers greys for months, and I’d tried about 5 before I found this. It’s brilliant. You might find you need a couple of applications before it covers your greys. I did my second application a couple of days ago, about a week after my first, and my greys are completely covered. If I look very closely I can see that the newest greys are slightly lighter than my natural hair colour, which is very dark brown. But I’m happy with that - it gives my hair a more natural, multi-toned look. I’ve knocked one star off because although it says it lasts between 4 and 8 washes, it fades much more quickly than that. But I only wash my hair once a week so that’s fine for me. If you’re covering greys, leave it on for longer than the instructions say. I do an hour and put a plastic bath cap on. The consistency is runny but I don’t find that a problem. Just squeeze directly on to your head and massage in. And wear gloves! I got some on my face but found it came off easily with cotton wool and warm water. Great product for those of us who want to avoid permanent hair dyes!

Excellent product for knocking back too-blonde highlights
I ordered Harmony in Coco and in Victoria to dull down some overly blonde highlights (my natural hair colour is dark brown), so my review is based on choosing between these two colours for this purpose. I would say the depth/darkness of colour is the same for both, but the Victoria has very pinky-purpley undertones and the Coco has more subtle coppery/gingery undertones. It's the blondest hair (and presumably grey/white hair) that picks up these undertones the most, so if you have no blonde/no grey, and are applying to dark hair, you probably wouldn't see much difference between the two choices. But the clear winner for me (with blonde highlights) was Coco, as the resultant coppery tones were attractive and natural looking, blending in well with the chocolate base colour, whereas the pinky-purple tones of Victoria were quite striking and looked very much 'like a dye job'. Always do a strand test (easy with Harmony as it is pre-mixed); I did undersections of hair and left for 5 minutes, then 10 minutes, to see what the effect was. When I did the final 'all over' job with Coco, I left it on for 10 minutes. As previous reviewers have commented, it's pretty messy to apply (though no more so than any other home dye) so my method was get into shower cubicle, wash hair, towel dry it and then apply the dye with the shower running (but directing it below your head). That way, any drips of dye are immediately diluted and washed away before they can stain the shower tray. Then I stayed in the shower cubicle (turned off the water) for the 10 mins developing time and rinsed off and conditioned my hair. I used half a tube for my jaw length bob. I'm really pleased with the results - with the 10 mins developing time, my hair has been knocked back a couple of shades, but still has nice variation from the way the dye has reacted differently to the blonde highlights, vs the toner, vs my natural colour.

Temporary hair colour without ammonia or peroxide
I got this hair colour in an attempt to find a quick method of colouring my hair regrowth without it reacting to previous henna based colours. I tried the lighter warmer colour first but as I've found with other colours, grey hair is more likely to take on more of the red pigments so it was paler and more red than I wanted. This colour - Coco - looked darker and less warm in the illustrations than I really wanted but thought I'd give it a try. It worked well for me and I ended up with a lighter warmer colour than that shown. I didn't follow the exact instructions as my hair is almost completely grey, especially at the crown so does not absorb colour easily. I used a brush and applied it to the roots and left it for just over 15 minutes and then got in the shower and massaged it in and rinsed out. I'm happy with the result and as it is supplied in a box of three, I have plenty to keep me going for a while. It does wash out earlier than the peroxide based temporary colours and for me, I really need to reapply in about 4 or five washes. Update for different colour: Cherry Chocolate. The Coco colour has been out of stock for so long that I thought I’d try another brown colour from the same range. I left the colour on for longer than intended as I got diverted to a crisis and when I washed the colour out, it was all cherry and no chocolate. The pink colour has also persisted, still showing after eight weeks. Don’t think I’ll be using this colour again.

Do a colour test first
This product certainly does colour the hair - it will cover grey and it is long lasting - BUT do a colour test first - this product turned my hair yellow which was not what I wanted - it does wash out (eventually) and I was able to tone it down by using another product (ash blond) - if the colour is right for you then it’s great but I personally would never use it again

Easy to wash in.
Was like yellow food colouring.

It actually covers grey hair!
I bought this product to blend/dye the white hairs around the front of my head and my temples which have started to appear over the last few years. I have tried many products only to be left disappointed as they either don’t work or turn the white hairs a garish orange colour which looks odd against my natural light brown hair. This product (hazel shade) turns the whites a light copper brown. I use it once a week: painting it on dry hair, leaving it on for an hour while I watch TV then rinsing it out. This gives the product time to properly stain the hair as my whites are very resistant to colour. Tip: if you wish to cool the colour down then try using a blue shampoo. There is a lot of product for the money and one bottle does me ages as I only apply it on the white/grey areas. I do not wish to use permanent dyes or the semi-permanent ‘24 washes’ kind as I have a very sensitive scalp and respiratory problems. This is by far the best non-oxidising colourant I have come across and I just hope that Harmony never discontinue it. I’m really pleased that Amazon stock it as I have not seen it on the high street.
