Is it too heavy if full of water? I was thinking of getting this but I’m worried it’s too big and it might make my backpack heavy

No, not “too” heavy. The bottle its self is fairly light despite being all metal. I got a carry for it for convenience.

How long will this keep hot tea hot?

It does a really good job of maintaining temperature for hours at a time, hot or cold. I highly recommend it. My ice water stays cold from 7pm when I leave the office until 7am when I arrive.

Can you bring this through TSA as a carry on item if the bottle is empty?

I have brought yeti's through on my carry on suitcase many times

Will it fit in vehicle cup holder?

It really depends on your vehicle. I have a 2012 Toyota Camry and it doesn't fit the cup holder.
