EART TL-380 Solid Electric Guitar Roasted Maple Neck 22F Stainless Fret

Alright...this is a first impressions review. So, is it the best guitar I've ever had? Nah. Certainly not. BUT...for two and a half bills...I'm a bit taken aback. The fretwork is as is shown on the photos: each fret end is perfectly rounded and polished. The ends of the fret slots are sealed with a filler. The neck is a nice, fat, chunky C shape. Very vintage LP-like. It might not be for all players, but I tend to like fatter necks. The guitar came set up very well, and after a bit of tuning I was wheedly wheeing my heart out. The finish on the neck is fantastic. The blue metallic finish on the body could have used a bit more buffing and polishing at the factory, but honestly I'm OK with that given the price point. Wiring is clean enough. Pots look to be copies of CTS designs. The tremolo is surprisingly good! The baseplate and saddles are magnetic, so those are definitely steel. The sustain block is likely zinc, it is not magnetic, and taking a file to it reveals a silvery color. The tuners have a high gear ratio and feel quite nice. The nut is cut quite well too. Truss rod adjustment is easy, EART sends these out with a nice little trem-bar style tool to adjust the wheel. The screws that attach the spring claw are a bit awkward looking, though: they're a large button-head style and don't allow the claw to sit very nearly. Tuning stability is about what you'd expect...don't abuse the whammy, but it returns quite well. It's set up from the factory for dive-only, but there's a little space in there to float it. First thing I did was slap on some elixir lite top heavy bottoms and tuned down to C standard. It's a wonderfully resonant guitar played acoustically: better than the majority of dead-sounding gaudily finished imports from GC. Honestly...I have no idea how they can offer a guitar that is *this* good for *this* cheap. It's kind of amazing. I plan on doing some mods: locking tuners, gotoh vs100n trem, BKP pickups, switch to black hardware. It's a steal when compared to anything twice the price...certainly worthy of players of all skill levels.

Stainless steel frets were mostly level, ends were smooth. Nut cut great, intonated, incredibly low action. Bridge and saddle looked like real steel. Frets were mirror finished. Fingerboard clean as a whistle. Tuning pegs worked fine. The guitar finish was excellent, the arm cut welcome. The fingerboard was rounded, I think. Not a thin neck, but not too bad. This felt a bit thinner than the Yamaha Revstar. The thickness at the first fret was 21.6mm, which is fine. Because the action was so small, I didn't even notice the neck depth. It was very easy to play. And one thing I was worried about was that the truss rod wheel would make the humbucker pickup too far away from the fingerboard. But it's exactly where it should be, which is under where the 24th fret would be. And this gives the neck pickup a warm sound, unlike some fenders and the SG where they move it back and it sounds a bit too bright. There were two unlevel frets that were easy to take care of. I don't want to knock other companies, but I bought several guitars on Amazon that I had to return. And a couple I should have had returned, but you get excited when you buy guitar and you don't test it thoroughly. This is an awesome guitar. The frets are easy to bend and are very expressive to whatever you want to play because the frets are so smooth. So I've gone into this with a little depth because most people who read comments with five stars think they are written by an AI. And quite frankly the internet is full of con men and liars, and so when you happen on to something that's fantastic, especially on Amazon, you really feel the need to tell everyone you can about it.

UBER AXE! Its a modern marvel of cool and capability. Its not as bright as some strat/tele in single coil and the volume change is large when split. So much that unless the dynamics match the pups output you will have to adjust volume. But they sound ok. Not many or ANY coil splits do imo. Rails do well but they are different .this guitar is heavy so dont get one for yer 11 yr young daughter. Stays in tune. Its "dark" sounding some say but thats always BS. LOOK PEOPLE. Newbs, people with little buying exp. And dummies who have played for years. GET AN EQ AND LEARN TO USE IT. No more "dark" anything. If you want a modern HH coil split w/tremelo that stays in tune and has WAAAY more good features than bad BUY IT. Just dont expect it to change you into something yer not. Its not the guitar.... its the player. So this will do

The eART TL-380 just in. Haven’t even plugged it in yet. SS frets, low action. Fingers crossed. ——— UPDATE: I keep looking out the window expecting the police to roll up in my driveway any second. Feel like I stole it My immediate thoughts? Frankly I’m blown away. Got this on sale on Amazon. The stainless steel frets are amazing. The action is low. The pickups are actually decent. The coil splitting works (that little switch between the knobs). The knobs are textured metal. 4 of the 6 strings were intonated properly. The other two just off by a little bit. The paint job is perfect from what I can see. Roasted neck feels amazing. Zero fret edges. Played it couple minutes and already feels like I bonded with it. All I can say is this guitar is a fantastic musical instrument. I don’t know if I just got lucky or if they’re all like this, but this thing plays great and it’s beautiful. The big boys better watch out. It’s that good.

Better than most but not as good as anticipated. I heard rave reviews so I had to get one. My beater if you will. So it came late it’s ok take your time Amazon but it was in pristine condition. The action is high. The saddles look like they were done in mass production some placed correctly some leaning and probably will have to get the intonation done by a luthier. Frets also need some work. Some stick out a little at ends. Some are high and not smooth sound scratchy when bending notes. So Overall decent minus the work that will need to be done. Pluses - great price for a mahogany body, good neck, and decent sound also aesthetically pleasing. Solid build Minuses - needs fret work needs better string action setup String tuners are terrible some are smooth others very stiff and just too small for my hands. Volume / tone knobs are not good kinda sharp flat top ( I bought new ones ) pots are stiff don’t roll freely. Overall not bad. A little work I’ll enjoy it a lot. The price is hard to beat for a decent guitar.

Let me preface by saying that I own Gibson, Fender, G&L, Peavey, and Gretsch guitars, which I have spent thousands on. While not disappointed in them, I have had some issues here and there. In comes this Eart guitar, which I only bought because it was $279. I wanted a Tele body style, so I figured for the price I couldn't go wrong. It was to be a modding platform more or less. Well, I got my T-380 yesterday, and it was absolutely perfect! (No dings or holes in the box. Thanks UPS for a change) I was not only impressed with the frets, but the neck was as straight as an arrow, and other than a string change, (I prefer 9-42's) I didn't need to do anything else. I was a bit surprised at how quiet it was even in single coil mode. Even my Strat hums like a nuts. The pickups are a bit bright, so a slight roll off in volume, or tone helped fix that. I found no high frets. no buzzing at all. I love it! One thing to keep in mind. While there is a two point tremolo, the routing of the guitar does not allow for a pull up on the stick. That could be remedied with carving out a bit more of the body cavity if you really need it that bad. Other than that, the trem works fine and is pretty stable considering the overall cost. I have nothing really bad to say. I have seen relatively few complaints about this guitar. Oh, there is one minor thing, no serial number. That's a non issue though. I feel lucky that I managed to get a good one given the price point. Like that elusive perfect $39 Tiesco DelRey I got as a kid. I only got this because it was $279, but it's certainly worth $400 easily.

Got this a few months ago but just got around to changing the strings (same gauge and brand), and it totally threw off the action because the saddles don’t stay in place (when the strings are removed) and they float around (moving the saddle screws a lot). Pictures attached. Another budget guitar I had years ago also had the same issue and I returned it. Good saddles stay in place and don’t unintentionally move at all. I was thinking about upgrading the saddles, but no one on here seems to know what size the saddles are, plus I’m not sure if it would be worth the time and doing or getting it setup. It could just be this particular guitar, because I’ve had other Eart guitars that didn’t have this issue. Wish I could return it. I otherwise do like it, but it also has some tuning stability issues that I was willing to live with till the flawed saddles issue. You’ll see in the pics how they float when the strings are removed (one even turned upside down right away), and then after restringing how jagged and off track they became from that. It’s unplayable now I don’t wanna have to set it up again each time I change strings. I’ve been playing guitar for over 35 years (including some professional experience) and have had many guitars, so I’m pretty confident about what I’m talking about here and pointing out this issue.

PROS: 1) Great guitar for the money! 2) The neck and fretboard on this instrument are second to none. I mean this! Very, very nice. 3) The body is also nicely cut and contoured for comfort and easy playing. 4) The tuners are not locking, but are very high quality. Probably1:20 or 1:22 turn ratio. 5) The finish is perfect. CONS: 1) The tone circuit is funky. The tone control is useless until you reach about 9 (on a 1-10 scale). It's almost like an on-off switch, not a smooth tone control. 2) The pickups are good sounding and high quality, but 'unbalanced'. The bridge pickup screams and is excessively 'bright' on the coil tap position. To me it is a bit unbearable. I was considering a pickup replacement / upgrade, but because of the unique cut for the pickup placements, I don't think a conventional pickup replacement is possible. I scratched that idea. 3) The coil tap wiring is not correct. The center single coil position has 'hum', when it should be humbucking. This is because the 2 pickups were paired with the same polarity (rather than opposite) with the coil tap switch. I'm surprised the design engineers didn't catch this one. 4) Changing the strings is a real task. You have to completely remove the tremolo plate to get proper access to the strings. With me, I need my reading glasses and a flashlight to complete the task! My Stratocaster is very easy to change strings, but this guitar is not so easy. SUMMARY: By far, this is the best quality guitar for the money on the market in this price range. I am returning it only because of the CON issues stated above. I am personally fanatical about quality control and design flaws, and need everything to be 'perfect'. I could probably rectify everything myself and turn it into a 2K custom axe, but I haven't got the time or patience for that type of thing. For musicians who aren't so critical of these things, this is THE perfect guitar!

Top Qualität, bemerkenswert!

Got this for $430 cad on sale. It has amazing hardware. Already setup and ready to play after a quick tune. Such value. It has nicer hardware than my Squier classic Vibe Strat that costs more. I'll buy more eart for sure. EDIT: i've had this guitar for about 6 months now, it's still my #1. I try guitars at stores recently looking for a new guitar, i can't help but compare everything i try to this guitar as this guitar feels THAT good. the neck on this thing.. a thing of beauty. i was going to buy a PRS SE but i think i might just get another EART tbh. I sold off my classic vibe strat as it wasn't getting nearly as much play.

Although the sound is different (that's why I bought it!), I feel this is more playable than my F3nd3r Pl4yer model. It feels great in the hand and is as smooth as silk on the neck and fret-ends. Just a tune up out of the box - no additional set up needed. I would recommend this guitar to anyone of any playing standard - it will improve a seasoned player and ease in a beginner. Could gig or record with this instrument. Build standard is excellent, finish pristine, looks great and sounds better. And all at this price, too.

At this price point, a great axe! I got the gold one, which looks great. I like the toggle switch for coil switching, rather than the push pull on the tone knob. The pickups are quite good, as are the tuners. The real star of the show is the neck, it's great! Love the look and feel of the roasted maple, the frets are excellent and the nut seems decent as well. The neck is a bit chunky, but not overly. Definitely thicker than your typical Squier Strat or Yamaha Pacifica. I did have to lower the action and tweek the intonation, but, again, at this price point, I was totally expecting this. If you're looking for a "super tele" on a budget that you can play out of the box, and mod down the road, this is it. The only mod I'm considering at this point is locking tuners, but only because I tend to install them on all my guitars.
