Novatek F4030 HEPA Filter Novair 1000 16" x 16" x 11.5"

Great filter

In two questions asked about a recommended blower the seller pointed to the Dayton 1TDT8. I suspected the blower was too strong, but thought I could run it on low speed and attach it to a variac. Plugged straight into the wall on low speed it's blowing at 260 feet per minute. Receiving only 70 volts - the airflow is still over 170 feet per minute and the fan doesn't seem happy running at that speed. At around 50V, it's in the range, but not even across the filter. I think laminar flow is supposed to be 90 feet per minute. That blower is more suited for a 24" x 48" filter, not 16" x 16". The important part is if it is actually catching particles as it's supposed to, I don't know the answer yet. I built the flow hood 22" deep with a pre-filter up against the 16"x16" HEPA filter, and 12" x 12" ~MERV 13 filter was placed before the blower. With this mod it's at a more reasonable 136 fpm, but still using a variac to drop down to ~70V. At 120V it's 177fpm. Nice filter, arrived without damage. There is a bit of an odor.

Delivery / Package: Perfect - 2 star Product condition - Corrugated aluminum - squished here and there - minor (I was able to straighten it out for the most part, and plus... I don't really bitch about stuff like this if I can use it to my standards - which - i can. but for a helpful review: -1/+1 star for the damage ) Product function: functions as it should.. I think.... Meaning - maybe I did the math wrong, but it seems like it has much LESS resistance than is claimed. However, I'm giving it a 2-star here because I find it more likely that I did a calculation wrong - *shrug*) anywho. not a bad little filter :) I need bigger one now though!

Product came a little dented up. Would be nice to know the pressure drop next time too. Not recommend
