I am vegetarian and haven't used oyster sauce or fish sauce . So I don't know in comparison but this gives a good umami flavor especially when I mix it with veg oyster sauce. The broth comes out to be good for noodles. I even put it in pastas and mushroom curry. It was a good purchase.

I'm not one of those that have an irrational MSG phobia. But, if you are, then this is a good alternative for adding umami to your dish. The most obvious use is to add a mushroom flavour to broths and soups. However, this is a versatile ingredient that can add that spunk to your Indo-Chinese dishes. By reducing the quantity, you can add depth to your dishes without making them shroomy.

For skeptics, here is your cue to buy this immediately! It is the perfect umami flavour to add into anything you’re making. It’s a greta soup/stock base too, with not much salt , so it is better than chicken bouillon. It just packs so much flavor! Seriously, 10 starts!

Not bad but quite salty. Moderate the slat in your recipe before adding this.
