La SportivaWomens Nucleo High II GTX Waterproof Hiking Boot
B**.
Instant Comfort
This is my third pair of these hikers. I use them to hike as well as walk miles of country roads and ravines to do litter pickup. They are lightweight, waterproof, and have a great cushiony feel with excellent traction and ankle support, much appreciated for using in wet, uneven, unstable terrain. They move with your feet yet provide enough support that I can stay active on my feet much longer than I could with even a lightweight trail runner. The height provides ankle protection from sharp objects. I do have at least a half dozen of this brand’s trail runners too since they are perfect for a little more stable terrain. Pair them with a densely woven merino wool sock and get the right sized boot (at least 1-1 1/2 thumb width from toe while standing. I always leave room for thicker socks and for my feet to swell as is normal when on them for awhile) for an instant, no-break-in needed experience. (I use Darn Tough socks, made in Vermont, perfect height and never a blister.) These tend to fit many widths of feet but if you are extra wide at the toe then they might not provide a good fit for you. TIP: Play with the lacing, skip grommets where you need extra room, snug them up in other areas, and adjust until you get a good feel for your feet. If you’re new to higher boots, you can tie off at the ankle joint until you feel more comfortable and they loosen up a bit. Then tie up another grommet pair and so on until you have the full support you’re looking for.

Grand Canyon Rim 2 River tested! Love them
As a novice hiker I somehow came across these in my search for hiking shoes/boots. I don’t do a lot of hiking, so I was a little hesitant to spend the money, but this was a once in a lifetime Grand Canyon opportunity and I didn’t want sore feet to ruin it.Someone in our hiking party encouraged me to size up so I would have room for my toes on the descent.I did not break in the shoes much at all before the actual hike down and hike back up. That being said, these shoes were absolutely perfect. They had great grip and I felt safe on all of the areas where there were loose rock and gravel. I have wider feet but felt like my feet had plenty of room and I did not blister at all over the 25 miles we hiked. I was able to tie the shoelaces in such a way where my ankles were comfortable and I could loosen it up if I wanted less support or tightened if I wanted more. They dry quickly if they get wet. When I got home, I washed them in the washing machine and they air dried very fast. They look almost brand new. I don’t do reviews often, but I was so happy with these shoes I felt compelled to.

Love These Boots!
I wanted sturdy boots with great traction and a cushiony feel. I hike weekly in rocky, muddy terrain. I love these boots! I found out about them via an article on the best hiking boots for women. These will be the only hiking boots I buy for now on.

Comfortable and Water Resistant
I’ve now worn these boots several times. They are comfortable and they keep my feet warm and dry. During the warm weather they did not seem too hot. The traction also seems quite decent.

Great to wear right out of the box!
These are the most comfortable hiking boots ever! This is my second pair of LA Sportiva. There was zero break-in period. I had my first pair for years. I just kept buying new hiking insoles once a year. The boots did not wear out for a very long time. I hike about 15 miles per week average. I also choose to wear these when I'm just walking a lot like at the state fair. I look silly with shorts and hiking boots, but I'm comfy! I was so upset when I saw that they quit making my original pair, but these are just as good...maybe even better.
