Does this one work as well as the large version? Are there differences in performance?

Thank you for this very important question. I hope you will excuse the long answer but think this is an opportunity to highlight the features and benefits of the counter top (Elite) and portable unit (Traveler) as well as offer some performance perspective on the category. As most of our customers know our company first introduced pulsating nasal irrigation nearly 30 years ago long before today's nasal wash products with the exception of neti pots which have been around for a thousand years. As we have seen the nasal wash market explode and mature it appears the primary objective is to monetize saline (salt) hoping to sell consumers various brands of salt for a lifetime - and even contribute to dependency. Some even require expensive proprietary cartridges to use their products. Our goal from day one was to help restore the natural ciliary function and strengthen the immune system not contribute to dependency to sell salt as a consumable (the razor blade mentality). We developed pulsating nasal irrigation not only to maximize cleansing benefits but to mimic and enhance the natural ciliary function responsible for keeping our mucous layer moving to eliminate harmful airborne irritants, allergens, and contaminants. Dozens of published medical reports over the past 30 years support the efficacy of pulsatile irrigation. Unfortunately, too many nasal wash products today, like saline sprays, help to contribute to dependency not strengthen the natural immune response.

Our customers have long asked us to develop a portable unit as a companion to the SinuPulse Elite that is convenient, easy to travel with, and can be used globally without a voltage converter. Others wanted a smaller unit for limited counter space. We recognized the need but did not want to introduce something that did not meet our high expectations for performance and efficacy. We believe it was important to wait and develop a unit that could deliver the SinuPulse performance and are confident we have with the SinuPulse Traveler. how  do you clean the machine

Thank you for your question.

After each use, rinse the water tank thoroughly with warm water to remove any residual saline and allow to air dry. (Soap and water may also be used periodically for cleaning.) It is beneficial to frequently rinse the unit after use by running through a full reservoir of pure warm water until there is no more water in the reservoir and none is being ejected from the tip. Once the water has all gone, continue to allow the unit to run for about 5 seconds to push out any residual moisture. Be sure to wipe down the unit regularly to remove any saline solution that may have spilled on the exterior to minimize accumulation of salt deposits.

How to Decalcify and Disinfect your SinuPulse Traveler (Recommended monthly)

Step 1
Start with a diluted white vinegar solution 1 part vinegar 3 parts water. If necessary you can increase the level of vinegar for stubborn calcification and mineral deposits.

Step 2
Be sure to rinse the tank with a small amount of the dilute vinegar solution. Wipe down the outer housing after each use to ensure any salt residue is kept to a minimum.

Step 3

Fill the water tank with the dilute vinegar solution and run through the unit until empty.

Step 4
Soak the sinus tip(s) in a small container of the dilute vinegar solution to remove any mineral deposits which may have formed. Following these steps will help ensure proper operation and optimal performance.

REMINDER: THE WATER TANK IS NOT INTENDED TO STORE LIQUIDS. EMPTY WATER TANK AFTER EACH USE, RINSE, AND ALLOW TO AIR DRY.

Can you buy extra nose pieces

Not fragile at all. Don't drop it and if traveling take the tip out  just use common sense. It's a great product from a great company. If you have any problems, you can always call or email. They answer the phone 24 /7 who does that these days? Best customer service hands down by any company I've ever experienced.

Is sinuair suitable for kids? 4 year old?

Thank you for your question, absolutely yes. Virtually all saline packets contain simply 75% sodium chloride and 25% sodium bicarbonate or commonly salt and baking soda. It’s a bit of a racket as you can do the same with Morton’s non iodized salt and a little baking soda. We recognize and even educate consumers how to prepare their own saline solution and have for over 35 years as the original pioneer of pulsation nasal irrigation.

We developed SinuAir as an enhanced saline formulation that contains sodium chloride, potassium chloride, calcium chloride, and sodium bicarbonate. These additional salt compounds are similar to the composition of sea water and our own natural bodily fluids for maximum cleansing benefit and comfort This formulation has also been widely reported best in medical journals for ciliary function. This formulation will appear slightly cloudy due to the lower solubility of the potassium and calcium salt compounds and is normal. SinuAir, is an excellent alternative for everyday users that want to avoid rebound and dependency necessary to maintain healthy ciliary function and step up for those experiencing a sinus infection or sensitivity to harsh saline solutions.

On a side note, our customers can use ANY saline products with our SinuPulse pulsatile devices. We do not encourage or require use of a proprietary saline products or salt pods like other manufacturers of nasal wash products. We believe this is an advantage the primary objective of most nasal wash companies is to sell saline and hope you continue to buy their brand of saline for life.
