I've been using this soap for about 5 years. I have extremely sensitive skin, and have had eczema when using irritating products. Even Unscented Dove, which was recommended first by my Derm, was irritating. This soap is wonderful. You wouldn't think by the (only) 3 ingredients that this soap would produce suds and act like any other bar soap, producing a squeaky clean feeling. There is no oily feel whatsoever, if you're worried about that. We use this soap in all baths and showers in my home. My kids have used it for 5 years and it's been great for them. The 8oz bar was a little big for them when they had smaller hands but I cut it in half for their bathtubs and they handled it fine after that. The 8oz bar lasts forever. At first my husband complained that there wasn't a strong fresh scent as he was used to with other soaps like Irish Spring, etc, but he soon got used to it. I've tried the lavender version of this and it's equally gentle with a nice subtle scent so try that if you need a scent. I stick with this Unscented version because I use this soap to wash fruits and vegetables. I keep a half bar at the kitchen sink. Even Fit and other vegetable washes have potentially harmful ingredients and this soap is so simple that I feel good about washing my vegetables with it. Just suds up your hands and then rub the item and rinse. It rinses completely clean. I hope this helps you. I really do love this soap and the price is great for such a wonderful product.

Bought this for my 1 yo who has EXTREMELY sensitive skin due to eczema and severe food allergies. (Coconut oil breaks her out in hives for crying out loud! ...which is why we wanted to try this olive oil-based soap.) It did not work for her. I tested the soap on the back of her shoulder in a 2 in circle at bathtime and in 24 hr she had red, dry skin in that spot. No good. However, still giving it 5 stars because it works really well for my face scrub! I have very sensitive skin that also becomes dry/acne prone when a product is too harsh. I've noticed my skin is becoming even dryer in my 30s -- e.g. cetaphil is a little drying for me even though it didnt used to be. I use this green bar of soap (which is quite a humongous size!) with my Olay ProX every day and my skin feels very clean, but not tight/dry. It seems that it scrubs away all the dead akin so that my moisturizer can really penetrate and keep my skin soft and looking good all day. The soap smell is not awesome -- i keep it in the cupboard under the sink in our bathroom but when i leave it out on the vanity it smells up the whole room and my husband thinks it smells "weird." It does not leave your skin smelling strongly of it, thank goodness! For most people with sensitive skin, I highly recomend this product. For those, like my little one with extremely sensitive skin, we'll stick with a diluted apple cider vinegar bath and the occasional use of Aveeno Baby eczema cleanser.

You don’t buy this soap for the scent, it smells like olive oil which isn’t bad or good, and the smell doesn’t stay when rinsed off. You buy this soap because it’s the purest, healthiest soap on earth and it’s great for any skin type or season, gentle enough for very sensitive people, keeps your skin ph perfect-so it’s safe for feminine areas, and it makes you look young and fresh because your skin will be the healthiest ever. I don’t even need lotion anymore, because it never dries you. When you go all-natural for the first time some people have a transition period where your skin detoxes, but I’ve been using this soap for 10+ years it’s worth it. Also, keep it dry when not using it so get a soap dish with spikes and put it to the side of the shower stream. Then it lasts longer too. Natural soap always liquifies easily but it can be dried and used again if you accidentally leave it in a puddle.

Purchased as a pre-face wash for shaving with a DE and Straight edge razor. My first impression was how slippery this soap felt when wet. Not a sudsy soap, unlike glycerine soap. I can not comment on the long term benefits of olive oil soap but I hear that it is great for your skin. I don't doubt that. The Bar is very large and will last a long time I'm sure. I would recommend a soap dish that drains though. This may work well if you leave it on and place your shave cream over it before shaving. I have razor burn on my Face from previously and it was fine but now that I just washed my Face again it is beginning to sting again. Not sure what that means but worth mentioning. Probably a great soap for everyday use. Doubt it will cure or remedy any Facial Skin issues you may have???

I can't get enough of this soap. I will never go back to standard grocery brands. I have chronic dry skin, and this soap helped me solve that problem over the past year I've been using it. The bar is huge, which makes it a much better deal than the smaller bars they offer in my local stores. If this is a problem for you, I recommend cutting the bar into smaller pieces, very easy to do, and seems to make it last even longer keeping it out of water. I use a wonderful wire-bar soap dish that keeps this soap dry and eliminates the messiness that others have commented on. I have had no problems with the scent or the texture of this soap - it never feels slimy to me because I take decent care of the bar(s), and the soap barely smells like anything but fresh leaves to me, certainly not like chemicals. I find that this bar will not lather as "automatically" as standard grocery soaps, but if you spend a little time and try at it, you can work up a lovely lather. I picked this soap originally for the lack of toxins, but it has become my favorite soap even independent of the mildness. It just feels good.

I used to love this soap and it was the only soap I used for many years but something has happened to the quality and whatever happened makes this soap really scary for someone like myself who has allergies. When I opened a bar from my last subscribe and save order, the color of the soap was suddenly completely different. The soap used to be a dark green, almost forest green, but this new bar and all of the others in the pack were suddenly a tan. The soap looked more like the olive oil and aloe soap than the plain fragrance free olive oil soap of the past. This frightened because I am very allergic to aloe. I then went to a local store and bought a couple of bars of this soap. Those bars had the same old color but odor had changed completely. The odor was almost floral and really could be smelled just when walking past a closet used to store an unwrapped bar of this soap. Whoa, was I disappointed. Complete gone was the great clean soap smell that this soap used to have. I really don't trust this company anymore because it seems to be going downhill. It includes aloe, which is spermacidal and probably hormone disrupting in way too many products and now the company has these problems with quality. What a disappointment.

It feels different than most soaps (a bit slimy and does not create bubbles) and smells strongly of olive oil; however, the feel of my skin is amazing! The smell doesn't linger on my skin, but the effects are lasting. I love the way my skin looks and feels and that is most important to me. I like that it only has three ingredients as well. So healthy, and it makes me happy. My hubby, who has super dry skin, uses it now as well. It works amazingly well for him. He likes everything about this soap.

I was super excited to try this brand out because of its reputation as an ethical company, but as much as I wanted to like it, it just didn't work out. The soap itself was nice, didn't dehydrate my eczema-prone skin, and smelled nice. The problem was with my soap-dish ... unless you keep the soap in a dish with excellent drainage, it gets very goopy ... my sister said it looked like boogers, and I agree. If I were to get one of those soap dishes that hold the soap up vertically, I might try this one again. For the time being, I'll try something else.
