Great old school knife. Slices amazing. Thin but tough blade makes cutting easy. Compared to say a tops knife that's 1/4in thick and can't cut stuff with out wedging this knife glides into whatever, great for "cleaning" / food prep. Cutting activities not trendy bushcraft lol

This is an excellent utilitarian knife. It is sharp and has nice texture in the grip. Easy to sharpen and maintain. Comparable to Old Hickory knives of similar size, but a little more robust. All around a great size for a general purpose belt knife.

OK when I purchased this green river hunting knife, I expected about the same quality as old Hickory! This knife, the green river Hunter surpasses old hickory quality by leaps and bounds. Mine is tight sharp and a very high quality! It matches quite well, with the BPS sheath! The handle is tight. Has some sharp edges that will be easy to rectify! But very well put together. I hope to get more of their eyes now like the ripper! You will not be disappointed when you get this knife the packaging was very protective and tight! Bravo, green river knives , excellent product! With the BPS knife sheath that feels like it was made for it! This set up is beautiful, and the 1095 steel is easy to sharpen it also came razor sharp in my case I expected to have to do work to this as far as I’m concerned there’s no work to be done beautiful thank you! PS the grip is perfect for a large size hand!

Beautiful American made knife at a great price. I read somewhere that it is 1095 carbon steel which is a good blade steel. It also came very sharp. You cannot beat the price.

This is a historical knife pattern, so some may not like certain features. The handle is shorter than is fashionable today and ends fairly square and somewhat sharp edged. You can't afford to lose much length to rounding the end yourself, so that may not be an option. But with the shorter length, it is lighter and fits in a smaller space. The cross hatched handle is bare and very grippy. It will need some edge rounding and weatherproofing. Sandpaper and Danish Oil work well. I used a knife for the initial edge rounding and contouring. The blade stock is thinner than currently fashionable, but also keeps it light and slicey. The edge is decent, but it would be best to tune it up. My blade was not completely straight/flat. It is delicate and dangerous work straightening a hardened blade. Also, no sheath, so make your own. So in short, it is old fashioned and comes rather raw and semi-finished. It is an excellent fixer-upper for someone with the right mindset and skills. The picture is from after contouring scales, sanding, teak oil, straightening and sharpening.

This knife is really cool. The handles came to me in a beautiful color. The blade is thin, but still has rigidity and isn’t super flexible, which I like. This makes it easier to sharpen and use. The blade sharpens and forms burrs well. However, the blade came to me with a not so great edge and tip, as well as a pretty poorly made bevel. So, I had to reshape/resharpen the bevel and tip myself. The size is pretty good, and I can see why it was an Old West favorite. Overall, an inexpensive and historic knife every collector should get!

Very good knife I skinned and broke down 5 rabbits (I used it to cut through bone to) and wittled some sticks and it's still razor razor sharp (I Sharpened it from factory edge before doing all the cutting) I love the knife and love the history I made a sheath for it out of rawhide
