DK Eyewitness Travel Guide Switzerland Paperback – June 20, 2017

This 2017 version of the DK Eyewitness Travel book of Switzerland is better than the more current versions. Wonder Books also delivered very quickly.

We are very pleased with this guide. It lists specific items to see/do in various cities with wonderful pictures. We also think the maps of the "old towns" in various cities in Switzerland is quite useful (detailed walking maps.) We also bought Rick Steve's book but this one by far outshines it. Although more expensive than Rick Steve's guide to Switzerland it is much more useful in planning what to do in a city when you only have a few days to spend and want to get the most out of your time. Rick Steve's guide left out whole cities--such as Geneva. How can you leave out Geneva in a tour guide of Switzerland????

I wish that there were more maps.

I purchased a bunch of these for various countries and have never been disappointed. Youngest son recently got stationed to Europe so we sent him one for every country he was interested in visiting.

Great to get a picture of what one will see at each location. Beautiful book.

It has information that is helpful for traveling to Switzerland. I wished it had information for people with disabilities who are planning on traveling to Switzerland.

I waited until June 20, 2017 to order all my Switzerland guide books for a trip in 2018. That's when this book first came on the market. I admire DK books for their color and superb organization. This book has a couple of problems. First the font is small and gray, not big and bold. It is hard to read. Second, DK tells you about Swiss history and every Swiss town and city of any consequence. What they don't do well is give advice to help you plan a trip. For that, Rick Steves is the champ. DK provides guides on restaurant expense, but not on which town or place is better than another. Again Rick puts you at ease with comparisons. He is not shy about telling you his favorites. DK likes it all and that's why this book is only OK. .

Las guías DK nunca fallan. Más baratas que su versión en castellano, para los que sabemos inglés no es problema alguno comprarlas en este idioma, esta última edición de la de Suiza está llena de mapas, imágenes e información de todo tipo (histórica, turística, gastronómica...) para organizar mejor nuestro viaje y/o para llevarnosla de compañera durante el mismo. Un acierto.

I always buy the DK Eyewitness Guides if I need a travel guide. I love the format. The clear maps and all the additional country information. There isn't one thing I would change about these books.. I like they so much more than the ones that are just dense text and very few photographs and illustrations. The Switzerland guide has all these features and doesn't disappoint.
