Murder in The Roaring 20s 6-14 Player Murder Mystery Flexi-Party

We played this game at our Halloween party. The characters and the scrip are absolutely fantastic and quite funny. Our group really embraced their characters and most dressed their part. I would suggest letting people know which character they will be playing in advance to give them time to decide on their clothing/costume. It took us a little bit of a while to sort through how to play but it was well worth it. This comes with an online audio narrative of evidence that is played at certain points of the game. We also used the theme music to which we added some Halloween music as people came in the room. We will definitely be purchasing another game from this company; they have a number of themes.

We had an amazing time!!! Can’t wait to buy another & play again!! Highly recommend for a fun night with friends. It probably took around 3 hours for us but we also took breaks for food & drinks between the 3 scenes. The audio clips were found on the website (just Google it). I also bought little notebooks and pens so people could make notes while we played. I would recommend for older teens & adults. Younger kids may have trouble reading & following the character scripts. You can play the game with less than 14 people but my opinion is that the story makes more sense if you play with all the roles.

The game was so fun and easy to set up! Murderer gets picked night of - no shows won’t ruin it. Didn’t have a CD player but was able to get the recordings online and play through my phone on a speaker. We also purchased it pretty close to the party date so couldn’t send out the invitations it came with, but there’s a site link they give so you’re able to send an Evite with character descriptions/ costume suggestions included. You can pick your characters or just assign them out. We slightly messed up the end but did a make shift “survivor-style” reveal of the murder and it was hilarious. Just set a phone up to record at the end and have everyone individually go in and say who they think did it!

Absolutely wonderful! We had 14 people playing. It give a great character description so you can dress/act accordingly. It came with a script that’s really easy to follow and a CD that keeps you on track. We had many laughs. The best part is there is not a specific murderer set for the game. It’s done at random but still makes since because everyone had the motive to kill. You can play it over and over again. I wouldn’t play it with anyone under 18 though since it does have strong language and sexual content. I will definitely be buying the other themes since this one went so well!

Great fun! Very easy to set up and play. Really is great to play from 6-14 characters. Only part I’m not sold on the murderer is chosen at random. The game then adjusts as necessary. Because the murderer is chosen at random, I’m not sure if all the characters have equal motive and therefore how logical it is to solve the crime. For instance, my character was the murderer. However, my character by nature didn’t have as strong of motive as others. Even though the game adjusted and gave me some stronger motive (because I was the murderer) it still wasn’t as strong as some others from the get-go. I don’t know if that makes sense. I suppose it’s like life where people’s motives won’t always make sense but the point of the party is to solve the crime and that can be hard. HOWEVER, the script, characters, and costumes were great fun! I would do it again for sure or another similar one.

There were 7 of us that played this game and we had so much fun dressing up and acting out the parts! It was pretty easy to follow and nice that it gave you lines to read and you don't know who the murderer is until the end. You can either read from the book or play the narration from the website provided, which is what we did. I wish I would have taken more photos of the decor because I went all out and got compliments from everyone. The nice thing is that it didn't take too long to complete. Our group now wants to do another one for Christmas!

My friends and I had the best time playing this murder mystery!!! It was our first time yet still easy to put together. Super ideal that I as the host could still play too. We are going to try another theme in a few months. So much fun!!! Worth the money because it basically puts the party together for you 👍🏼👍🏼👍🏼

Total hit! I researched a lot of different options, and this game by far seemed the least cumbersome and seamless to pull off. Scripts are provided which can easily be adjusted with ad lib for added humor or theatrical flair by participants, but for those people who are more reserved having a guided script to follow seemed to really help. The fact that the game is so flexible in terms of characters and the murder is picked randomly at the start of the game also made this so much easier than other games i researched. Cost is also far less expensive than most. The audio recordings are great, and that was also a big hit with guests. We followed the dinner menu plan and not the mingling option. We had the full 14 characters participate so we divided each act by cocktail hour, appetizers, meal and dessert then everyone came back together to do the scripted portions. Flowed really nicely. Took about 3 hours doing it that way. Would definitely suggest this for anyone attempting a party like this for the first time!

I enjoyed the fun cast of characters. Probably able to reuse the game with a different set of players

We used to do Murder Mystery parties in our 20s, now in our 60s I decided to do one for my 60th birthday. We had 6 players but it still worked well. The audio file that introduced each 'act' helped to se the scene, and the fact that everyone dressed up in 1920s clothes helped a lot. It is very well presented and easy to follow even after a number of glasses of champagne!! You are each given a script for each scene varying depending on whether you are the murderer. The scripts were very well written for each character and if you get into acting it out, it was very funny. It didn't really matter when it referred to other characters who were not sat around the table, it was just like they were in another room. Also you draw secret lots as to who will be the murderer at the start with only them knowing who it is - me as host didn't know. This means that you can play the game again and again. And with 14 characters you can change who people are on another occasion.

Bought for a themed dinner party. Made the night a lot easier to navigate

I bought this for my 30th birthday and had a roaring 20s murder mystery. All of my guests loved it. We had the 14 guest version which was great as you got given clues on what to wear to help those who may struggle with fancy dress. The instructions are clear and the story we had adds some humour which was nice. We would definitely buy one again or even use the same one again and again as the murderer isn’t always the same but dependant on who guests pick out the “hat” Great fun

We had a great time - I would absolutely recommend! Tips: If doing with a dinner party - try to prep your food, set your table and have the food ready to take out of the oven/fridge. We did this and I am so grateful as you can't excuse yourself as host in this game if you are playing. We did a mingle question set for round 1 before dinner. It takes a while but is a great way to warm your guests up to each other. Then for time's sake after dinner we did round 2 and 3 at the table. We really appreciated the quirky and funny writing and had such a fun evening. Well done!
