Are these water bottles lead and cadmium free? It only says non toxic.

Dear Buyer, We considered every element when we engineered this insulated bottle, especially your safety - from the BPA-free lid, to the premium 304 food grade stainless steel, so you can rest assured you are safe. All bottles are FDA Approved. Thank you and please let us know if you have further questions.

What type of plastic is the lid made from?

The lid is made up of Polypropylene (PP) Food-grade, BPA fee, Environmentally friendly.

How do these compare to the Simple Modern insulated metal water bottles? Does water in these stay cold as long as in those?

Good question. The water does stay cold for the entire school day and there's never leakage, from what I have seen so far. Also, the cover is easy to open which makes for an easy refill at school.
