Sony CD-R Music Media Recordable Blanks for CD-R Recorders Burning
This is a very good Blank Media Music disc to purchase if you need to burn music discs to a CD Recorder, because you cannot use just any Blank CD-R disc to burn in a CD Recorder. Most Music blanks even from top brand names many will not work in a CD-R Recorder ! Why ? What's the difference ? This is what I have learned: Most of CD-R discs that are widely sold are for computer burning. All of these will work in a computer. Every hub of CD-R discs regardless of brand name has the little logo on the Hub that shows "Compact Disc with: Recordable"-directly beneath the Compact Disc logo and nothing else. All of these particular CD-R's are geared for computers. Looking for the ones that work in CD-R Recorders all the time ? This is what you need: The logo for these discs are just a little different: The logo will show: "Compact Disc with Digital Audio printed directly under this, then Recordable" printed underneath Digital Audio. These are the correct Media blanks to buy for CD-R Music burning on a CD-R Recorder. Besides this brand of Sony, I've only occasionally found some Maxell CD-R's that have Digital Audio printed on the Hubs with the Compact Disc logo, and they are getting harder to find. My CD-R Recorder is a Teac and these are the only type of blanks that will work for me.

Finding Something that Works and still works!
4 stars because of the packaging.Product has flimsy packaging, a paper cover over the disks and a thin plastic wrap over the paper that is removed once you open the spindle. That being said, so far they work for older stand alone recorders like the Philips line of recorders. I hope it works in yours as these are harder and harder to find.Avoid the maxell gold packs with the maxdata label. They will work in the computer, but may or may not work in the stand alone recorder , and usually the product description shows the older gold label, not the maxdata label they ship to you. And... so far two calls to maxell have left voice mails that they do not return your call or help you in any way. Thank you Sony for keeping a product we can use. Makes me like Sony more.Edit 08-24-2015I went to use a few of these and got the opcfail display. puzzled me because these work. so... after thinking it out a little I "cleaned" the blank disk with GE cleaning solution for cd/dvd's and poof... reads and writes just fine. So if you have some failing... don't worry yet... try cleaning them before you use them, and perhaps they will load just fine. Just trying to keep you informed. :)

I've never reviewed 50 cd's at the same time before...
This is my first ever review of a product that is not a recorded cd. But these BLANK music cd's from Sony so impressed me that I had to give them due credit.I've burned hundreds (and I mean well over a thousand!) cd's over the past five years on my Philips CDR-775. I always felt a little ripped off when the first few cd's from any one package could not be read by my burner, and I always suspected that part of the problem was the way the cashier would run the cd's over their magnetic deactivator (whatever the technical term is!) to disable the anti-shoplifting EAS tag typically attached to the top cover of the blank cd container. I thought that maybe that process was also rendering the top few cd's incapable of being read or initialized. I've been told that that theory is invalid...but I'm not convinced. In the past, I've had pretty good luck with Sony and Maxell brand music cd's, and lesser luck with Memorex and generic store brands. I recently had a couple packages of Memorex music cd's that I bought at different local music stores, and at least half of the cd's were useless in both packages. (My son is able to use them for burning music on our computer, so not a total loss.) I actually started to wonder if it was my aging Philips burner that was the problem; I mean, I have given it quite a workout the past few years! So to try something different, I've recently begun ordering these Sony music cd's online from Amazon; the brand served me well in the past, and I figured that I wouldn't have to deal with the possibility of a cashier de-magnetizing the first few cd's of a new package since it was coming from an online store - no store security device to deactivate...EUREKA! The Sony cd's always arrive within a couple of days, and I have had the pleasure of NEVER finding a blank cd that my burner rejects. This is the only way that I will ever buy blank music cd's in the future, and Sony will have to screw up awfully big for me to change brands now. Even considering the additional shipping cost that you would save at a typical "brick and mortar" store, this product is an excellent value for your dollar, and highly recommended. (If 14 of the blank cd's from your local store are no good anyway, then this option makes more sense.)Hint: Buy the 50-pack and save yourself about 24 cents per cd over the usual 30-pack price. Worthy.

CD's are good quality. They are great for recording Music
CD's are good quality. They are great for recording Music. The only CD's (mostly) you can find at stores anymore are Memorex. Sony CD's are so much better for recording music. Memorex CD;s aren't very good. Some of them will only work in certain players. Some will not work. And, most Memorex CD's that do work only play some of the songs on the CD. None of them last long. Sony CD's work everywhere and last much longer. The only thing about this 50 pk Spindle was when I received it, the plastic around the CD's was all ripped up, so I had to place the CD's in an old Spindle pack which twists on & off. Nothing (including wrapping or packaging) is as good as it used to be.

Buy these!
Finally! We are so pleased to have found durable discs that work in multiple players and recording systems. We actually thought it was time to replace our full recording set up due to poor performance and realized it was faulty discs. We've put these through a multitude of test recordings and the playback is great. It's one of the few discs that we have found that actually play in every single one of our CD players. Yes they cost more but it is definitely worth it. We already ordered 3 more sets after testing the first order.
