Milwaukee48-39-0531 Band Saw Blade Bi-Metal 24 Teeth per Inch 44-7/8-Inch

I replaced an original equipment saw blade on my portable bandsaw with the Milwaukee bi-metal 24 tpi blade I'm using it to cut a lot of mild steel. The blade cuts the steel like butter and does not wander off the line. Note that the user should be familiar with the correct way to cut various metal shapes for the blade to work as designed. Structural shapes such as square tubing and angle pieces need to be cut at the correct angle to keep the teeth in contact with the thinner portion of the cut. When cutting a piece of 2” angle w/ 1/8” wall, match the tooth pattern to the 1/8” thickness (3 teeth in the cut at a time) and not to the flat wall 2” thickness. The 2” angle should be placed in the holding device so it sits as a pyramid instead of an “L". Do this and the blade will do its job.

These blades are invaluable and well worth the investment. If you need a portable band saw the Milwaukee brand are great and their warranty matches any other product out there. Their blades stand up to a lot of cutting. I'd recommend ordering several tooth patterns and several packs because they do wear out and it's important to have some spares and different blades for different tasks.

Cut the tape, undid the flap and all 3 sprung out at me, one caught my wrist and another hit me in the chin and neck. They look like they'll work.... but that was one heck of a jack in the box!!

I have cut many many bits of aluminum, steel, and even a BUNCH of stainless exhaust pipe. I’m still on the first blade!

Only used one so far for a few hours on some thin stainless but it cut easily and cleanly. So far very happy. Can't speak to how long they last yet.
