Novelty 16195, Terracotta, Countryside Flower Box Planter, 18-Inch

This might be a very different review. Lol. I did not buy this planter for plants! I bought it for birds!! I have hundreds of chickens. They drink water sooooo much more in the winter, than in the summer.....I am constantly refilling waterers. When they get frozen, it is very hard to get the ice out of REAL chicken drinkers. So.. here comes the planter. This planter is very strong, very sturdy, and very durable. I fill it to the top ith water, and have placed a very large rock in the center of it, to keep it from tipping over, when my chickens jump up and perch on the lip of the planter, while they drink from it. When the water freezes, I tip it over, and dump the whole long block of ice out, rinse it clean, and refill it, and add the rock. This planter is tough! If it can hold up to birds everyday, me dumping it out and dropping a big rock in the center, artic temps, and still look and perform as well as the day I got it.....this is a fantastic item. And it will certainly hold up to being filled with dirt, and having some flowers put into it. Whatever your reason for using this planter...you wont rgret it. It is NOT a cheap flimsy, easily broken plastic junk piece. IT IS, a very nice, thick, strong, multifunctional flower planter, which you wont be disappointed. Buy one now! You will love it!! I purchased two of these in June 2016 (2 years and 5 months ago). I recently noticed that one of them has a crack in it. I ordered two more, just to be on the safe side, and today went to transfer my plants from the 2-year-old planters to the new planters. As soon as I touched them, the 2-year-old planters shattered into a thousand pieces. I swept up the dirt and put my plants into the new planters, for now, but I will be looking for replacement planters ASAP. These planters are NOT suitable for use outside. Or possibly for anything other than very temporary use.

Received today, packed very secure. Planted my daffodils in my 30 inch resin planter today also. The planter holds it shape and is pretty strong . I added small rocks inside bottom of planter for additional drainage and the dirt and rocks and water and flowers never changed the shape of planter. I have submitted a picture and in the picture you will see a white resin loveseat bench in the background. This was delivered from Amazon 2 weeks ago. I am extremely happy with the look. It is still a little cool here in Ohio, but I just could not wait to dress my front porch for spring. Thankyou Amazon. I owe it all to you.

Someday I'll learn that a low price often reflects quality and not necessarily a good deal. I purchased this 36" window box and it immediately began bowing (warping) when I put the dirt in it. That should have been my first clue that the plastic was not sturdy enough to keep it's shape. I am now searching for a new planter that will maintain it's shape as it should be designed to do. Bad choice on my part.

I bought this countryside flower planter after looking at several brands here (plus at the local garden centres). I bought the sage green as I found it attractive and not too loud a colour.The base has a small drainhole which is covered with a plug. I flipped this out with a knife, so hey presto, drainhole, and I didn't have to drill it myself.I filled it with soil and did my planting. The planter is certainly strong enough to hold the soil effectively. (I read some reviews of other products in which people complained the the plastic was so weak and thin, the planter bowed with the weight of the soil.) I have the 18 inch model and I'm impressed by the product. I expected it to be a flimsier to be honest and this isn't flimsy in the least. And guess what.... this is made in America. I ordered another.

absolutely useless...I odered an 18 inch length so I could dip my 18" squeegee in it when window washing...The photos show this is not 18" .... It is a royal pain to return because I live in Mexico. So I am stuck with it. I have zero use for it. Why would a seller advertise a product as 18" when it is clearly not?? Returning is not an option , more trouble than its worth.

These flower boxes are somewhat flimsy, but extremely useful. They come in sizes ideal for the terrace planter holders. I would like them to be a little more sturdy, but they serve the purpose. The last ones I bought lasted 10 years; so I guess you can't complain about the longevity. In the larger size, there is a rod in the middle to hold the planter together, but it is more nuisance than useful. I just throw it out. If the company would made a little more sturdy product, I wouldn't mind paying a higher price because they are attractive and, as I stated before, very useful.

Made of plastic, not terracotta earthenware as I expected. Similar item can be purchased anywhere in UK for about £5. Why would I purchase this from America for over £38. I want to return it but postage will cost £27.00!!

I was a little hesitate buying these after reading some of the reviews but decided to go for it. Bought 4 of the 36 inches and I didn’t have any issues any of them, no discolouration or scuffs and they are pretty sturdy as well. I’m very pleased with my purchase.

It was a good size for what I needed. If I had bought locally it would have cost half or less. I only kept it because of convenience with shipping. Also had a few grey cosmetic only scrapes.

Colour was great and product size was exactly what I was looking for.

Yes they did!Love the fact that they are nice and deep!I always ticked me that most I had to buy were so shallow!Somebody finally got the right idea!
