I needed something that was not an induction burner because they don’t cook with a very high heat for searing. This one is much more effective.

Heats up fast , stays hot/warm for over an hour after turning off. Good for keeping food warm.

Great burner for studio apartment living! Cool and safe for countertops. Can you use 7 inch to 8 inch pots and pans on it.

Purchased at the end of March 2025. worked well for 4.5 months. Unit had a meltdown August 19, 2025. Didnt even last 6 months!! Will not buy another one from Techwood.

I bought a black one in Feb 2022 ($10 more then). I'm in a studio apartment and use it every single day. It's the only "stove" I use to cook everything except to heat things in my microwave. It just died now June 2026. I bought another one in silver...got it today. I hope this one lasts as I really liked the way the other one cooked. It boils water rapidly and I'm actually a good cook who makes many different things. I'm not just scrambling eggs or cooking a hamburger...lol I don't usually give things five stars, but I even liked the handles that never get hot.

Looks nice, but it’s a chore to work with. It takes a long time to get hot and stays that way for a long time after you turn it off. Decent construction materials, but if I were to get another hotplate I would trade performance for looks.

Bought this for camping. First time using. As instructions turn unit on high for 3-6 minutes for burn off. Did notice a little smell. Actually works great.

As far as hot plates go, this one is top shelf. It heat up very hot and boils easily. Easy clean up, but retains heat long after shut off so be careful!
