Worth every penny
Exceeded my expectations! This bag will hold a very decent amount of items especially soft cloth like materials. If packed correctly the sound is minimal. I would absolutely not over stuff the bag and leave plenty of room to pull the straps tightly. Fits very well on the roof of my Honda civic (with sun roof). The padding was enough however I did have another pad inside the bag over the sun roof just as an extra precaution to avoid pressure. The straps worked just fine but I did use one of the extras just in the middle to add extra security (I was so worried the bag was going to fly off on the highway) and it didnโt move at all. The zipper is very well made (but again if you over stuff it - itโs got my to bust the seams) The material overall is very thick and held up in high winds and some pretty heavy rain on a 500 mile trip max speeds were 70mph. I didnโt feel like it changed my gas mileage too much but I also packed the bag leaving the front sloped down some to help distribute air flow and minimize resistance. The hooks for the door was very easy to use and fit perfectly. Didnโt effect anything and stayed securely the entire trip. Just slide them under the molding (just make sure they are in a good spot lining up with the straps straight.) The straps are thick and to avoid the extra flapping around - just tie them up to the strap itself (this also helps secure it). Overall time will tell how many trips the lasts but I think it will work for quite some time.

It worked really well
This is a very good bag. I drove this in June from Fairbanks Alaska (I was living in Delta Junction) to Buffalo NY. I traveled 5040 miles through the Yukon and British Columbia, I went down the coast to Vancouver, and a small town near the border of Washington and past Seattle, stayed in Portland, Oregon, then came home on the I- 90 all the way from Washington State to Buffalo, NY. Because I went down the coast, I added 1000 miles to my trip. NOTHING INSIDE MY ROOFBAG got wet. Now it did rain, because I was on the road for 2 weeks. It poured some days and drizzled all day on others. Because I have a Buick Encore GX you can't put the straps through or under the rails on the top of the car, so I had to put them through the car doors. That caused the straps to wick water into my car at times. I'm still giving this 5 stars because for some reason it didn't drip on my head lol through the front straps only the back ones. Plus, if I'd had my VW Tiguan, this wouldn't have happened because the straps would have been on the outside of the car. My friend did it for me and tied it down for me, because I broke my wrist and I was unable to do it. I am a procrastinator so I drove around Buffalo with that roof bag on top of my car for 2 weeks, it was very stable. I drive fast usually 80 -90 miles/hour, which you can easily do in Montana and Wyoming. But even in mountainous, curvy British Columbia and Alaska and Whitehorse, Yukon and all over, it firmly stayed in place. I only heard whistling a few times when I didn't wrap the straps up. This is a good bag. Also no bugs got inside it and NO DIRT. Trust me when I say Alaska and the Yukon are especially dry and dusty. I still have that dirt and dust on my car! lol (by the way, I also bought stretchy screens for my back windows to keep the bugs out, which worked for the most part). I highly recommend this bag. I was a bit worried, but 5000 miles through mountains and hills and curves while I'm flying/fast driving and it performed and held up great. It's really thick! I bought the smaller bag which fit perfectly on my small SUV (the GX is slightly bigger than the regular Encore) and I was able to fit 2 small suitcases (not the tiny ones either) plus other bags in it. I stuffed that joint. Because I had a lot of stuff. I think I could have gotten those rails that go across the top of your car sideways that attach to the siderails, but I didn't want to pay for those. Oh and I have a sunroof, I used the protective mat and I haven't seen any damage or scratches to my car. Plus the sunroof works fine after all that weight that was on top of it. Probably 80-100lbs I saw a lot of these bags on the road!!

Outperformed expectations
I needed some extra cargo space at the last minute for a long drive from Washington state to the Utah desert and back. This thing outperformed my expectations. It was tough, secure, and had plenty of room for sleeping bags & pads for 5 people, 2 tents, a couple backpacks, a suitcase, and other random items that didn't fit in our trunk. It stood up to travelling at highway speeds for an avg. of 400 miles a day, temperatures ranging from 60 to 100 F, and proved to be completely waterproof when, in eastern Nevada, we drove through the heaviest rain I have ever seen in my life. Great value, definitely recommend.

Great purchase
This is our second car top carrier. We use it all the time. It is probably the best if have seen. When it was time to replace the old I did a lot of shopping around. It is roomy the zipper is heavy duty and the Velcro flaps seal really well. The tie downs are sown in to the carrier itself and work great. The appearance is nice but Iโm more into functionality. This a brand I will stick with.

LOOK NO FURTHER- this is the Rooftop Cargo Carrier that YOU should BUY.
This product is well made. The material is water proor, the zippers are of good quality. Everything you can wish for on a Rooftop Cargo Carrier is in this product. We travelled 7 hours we experienced rain and sun while traveling . Our luggages remained dry. Best of all it is easy to install and remove. There was enough room for 4 medium luggages. Really good product. You won't be disappointed.

Works great!
We bought this two years ago and love it. It has saved us on many vacations where we would not have had room for all our things. We first used it on a vehicle with no side rails and used the hooks to fasten the carrier. It worked fine. We now have a car with rails and it's much easier to fasten the straps. I bought the 15 cu ft carrier because I wasn't sure how it would work out. We are now upgrading to the larger model.

Reliable waterproof car top carrier
Durable, waterproof, easy installation, no impact on gas mileage, very stable and lockable. Drove from GA to NH and back, rained most of the driving trip both ways and everything inside was dry. Hung up to dry and air out with no issues! Good product and price.

Impressed
This is a very sturdy, heavy duty cargo bag. We drove 5hrs for vacation and I did not want a cover for the bed of my truck. I decided to give this a try. It held 2 overhead-size suitcases, 3 very large totes, my cpap and there was room to spare. I felt comfortable with my items in the truckbed when we stopped for gas or meals. I don't think it would be easy for someone to get into in a hurry. Ready for the next reason to use it!
