Dreadlocks Tool,Starting and Maintaining Your Locs Easy

This tool is so easy to use when retwisting my dread and result last a long time.

I have only a Sisterlocks (SL) Practice. I got drawn to this tool as I was trying to solve the snagging of hair that is very prominent with the self-retightening SL tool.It is a stainless steel tool with a very smooth finish. I just received it so I cannot corroborate whether the sheen will change. It is ~ 3 inches long and sent in a lovely zippered which is great for storage.The tool works very well and DOES NOT SNAG. Because of the flat shape, the lock can be retightened close to the scalp. Hair needs to be at least 4 inches for easy retightening.The lock should sit in the narrow loop at one end of the tool, but for small Sisterlocks especially if the hair is fine, it is a bit fiddly to use as one must concentrate on keeping the lock in the tool as well as paying attention to the technique of retightening. If where the lock sits can be narrowed, this problem should be solved. I intend to try with a pliers.The lock has to be threaded into the tool, like a thread through a needle's eye. This again can be fiddly in small locks. The SL tool can be clipped unto the hair and thus the lock size is less relevant.It has a mild curve which I think if enhanced slightly, will make the tool more efficient in use.

Comes in a cute little pouch for storage. A very nice touch, for those prone to losing things (like me!).No instructions were included, so I found instructional videos on YouTube. The first time I used this it took me about 12 hours total (I’d work on it for a couple hours a day). I messed up several locs because I’d accidentally grab hair from a neighboring loc, or be unable to complete the last rotation in full. I was able to undo most of this, though.The second time around was looking to be similarly difficult... I re-watched tutorial videos and realized I’d been entering the loc using the wrong end of the tool. I adjusted technique and it went MUCH faster. This tool does really well on the thicker sisterlocs. With the smaller locs in the front, I have to be more careful so it doesn’t slip out of the “holder.” Still had the problem of accidentally catching hair from a neighboring loc... but not as much. Overall, this is a solid tool and with practice I’m sure it’ll be much better.

Not a bad product at all, but I surprisingly prefer to use the patented sisterlocks tool. I ordered this tool due to the issues I was experiencing with snagging while using the sisterlocks tool, but those issues actually went after after the first day. This tool (along with two others from Amazon) came the day after I finished retightening my whole head, and although it worked well with my locs, I think if I did my whole head with this tool, then I would miss the clamp that the sisterlocks tool provides. Not to mention, I’m fairly certain that this tool is the smallest interlocking tool on Amazon, and it was a bit too big for some of my smaller locs, but not big enough to be completely useless. My locs haven’t fully locked yet, so maybe I’ll change tools over time, but I’m still going to use the sisterlocks tool for now. I only ended up keeping this tool because the pouch it came in was so incredibly cute!

I ordered this tool prior to my microloc install. I watched numerous vids, then practiced on my daughters dolls lol. I couldn’t wait to retie. The first time took a few hours. My second retie went a lot smoother & quicker!! I did have to use a smaller tool for my tiny nape locs.I’m excited I can care for my own hair & save money!If you’re looking for a thin, durable interlock tool..get this one! Also..I love the cute zippered pouch!! I keep it in my purse..just in case.I’m going order another one for back up.Order this one sis!!

I have been maintaining my locs with a latch hook for 5 years now. I wanted to find something affordable that would lessen the time I spent retightening my hair and reduce the snags/pulled hairs I got when using the latch hook. My loctician uses the hook and even when she does it, I get pulled hairs. I originally saw YT videos featuring the Easy Loc hair tool. I liked the design better than the nappy local tool and decided to get it when I saw it was being sold on amazon. However, it was out of stock until June. I saw a recommendation for this loc tool and decided to purchase it because it was similar "in theory " to the easy loc. I received it today and love it already. I did one loc so far because I am not due for a retightening for some weeks. Best purchase I made. It comes in an overly large package but the carrying case is cute and convenient. I am going to purchase 2 more for my cousin and loctician.

So easy to use that I bring it with me to work and in between calls tighten up the roots on my locks. I have a 118 of them that are past my shoulders in the middle of my back and this just works wonders. No more having to schedule a salon appointment sit patiently for about 45 minutes to an hour as I wait my turn just to climb up in the chair and have to wait another hour to 3 just to get maintenance done. Plus I like this because it's a lot cleaner than the Palm rolling method. I use it to also tighten up any air pockets on the shaft of my locks. With This my new growth stays tame a lot longer. I recommend using this on a clean, dry, head of hair without any Product. It just makes it easier to grip the tool since it is made of metal. The only thing I wish is that the seller had a larger size for some of my thicker Lox.

I have had my Sisterlocks for 18 months and some of them are very VERY small. So small that I've been combining some of them and they're still tiny. Anyhoo, I have every Interlock tool I Google that someone on Youtube has recommended. Some I've spent $40+ on and this less than $12 tool has been the best and easiest to use. I'll be purchasing 3 more just in case the manufacturer changes or they sale out. It was so easy to use! Not sure if I'm getting better at retightening or this tool is just THAT good. Either way, I say get this one Sis! If you are an at home Interlocker, get this one!
