Hi, dear ,our jewelry making it can make 20 necklaces and 4 bracelets. Total it has 90 ready nice images, 90 black and white picture, which you can color your own; 90 diy frames which you can paste the stickers, you can DIY your own imagination and unique pendants.

Q: Is this age appropriate for a girl turning 8? Hard or easier side?

Recommended age is 6 years and up. This would be a perfect gift for a 8 year old. As far as it being harder or easier would depend upon the experience of the child.

Q: can you add your own pictures or do you need to use only what comes in the kit?

I used some dried flower petals I had saved from my late dads garden, it turned out fine, the background I colored a pale green. Im sure you could do your own picture.

Q: Is this suitable for a 5 1/2 year old to do on her own?

My daughter is 9 years old, she made a creative necklace for me, full of imagination. But i think if below 7 years old,should have adult assistance for children. The crafting activity involves scissors cutting and use of craft glue.
