I spent the Christmas holiday in England which was my first trip over the pond. I discovered a number of traditional English foods that I had never imagined. When I returned to the USA I ordered several packages of Lakeland crumpets. You put them in the toaster and bake them twice. I covered mine with a spreadable cheese called Mascarpone and honey. I did try my hand at making clotted cream but the quality of the heavy cream here in the USA seems compromised by over pasteurization.These crumpets have a pleasant texture and taste supporting what ever you choose to cover them with.

These were delivered today, had to try one right away. Absolutely delicious. Had been buying Duffy’s which were flatter than they should be, these are so much nicer and the correct shape. I am English by birth American by choice, always loved crumpets when I lived at home. These do not disappoint. Will definitely buy again.

These crumpets are delicious ,just as I remembered them Bach home.with butter and a cup of tea.
