It’s a Take Anywhere Bed
The Kamui came in a box much smaller than I expected. I thought I received the wrong product! I followed the simple directions and had no problems. It took about five breaths to fully inflate the first time after about ten minutes letting it self inflate. I have not slept on it all night, but I did lay on it in my back and side position. It is firm enough that my hip and shoulder did not bottom out. That’s important to me because I am a side sleeper. I am six feet tall and weigh 165lbs. The pad is very comfortable. It seems well made and durable. Deflating was a breeze. I knelt down on it while rolling it up. It easily fit in the bag. I reinflated it and used two breaths to firm it up. I will use this for short camping trips in my Ford F150 when I don’t want to pull my travel trailer. I will also use it on holidays when there is not enough bedrooms and I’ll put it on the floor to watch TV. It’s going to get a lot of use! I was going to spend $145 dollars on a Thermarest Mondo King, but missed the sale on Amazon. Lucky for me. The Kamui has everything I need at $37! Score! Update: I slept on the floor in my Kamui last night. I’m going to keep the five star rating. My main concern was testing the R-insulation factor. I didn’t feel any chill coming through from the floor. My house is on a concrete slab with a thin carpet. I was warm all night. I found it necessary to let out some air, it was too firm at first. I just reached up and loosened the valve. This pad is not as comfy as my pillowtop mattress, but I didn’t expect it to be. At this price, I may get another Kamui to stack on top and I’ll be able to really dial in the perfect firmness. A second one will give me 4 inches of comfort.

Thick, comfortable pad is well built and self-inflates quickly but is a little bulky when rolled up
This is a very comfortable sleeping pad. It self inflates very well - the two inch foam provides enough expansion force to pull air in quickly and effectively. Within 5 minutes the pad is about 80% filled, and one quick breath puts in the other 20%. Simple. Or you can wait half an hour and the thing will be completely filled without you even having to blow into it. The snaps are a genius feature that allow quite a bit of versatility when you have more than one pad. Seems to be well built - the shell is bonded to the foam along almost its entire surface, save for the dime-sized depressions, which are actually useful to indicate if you've over-inflated it (the holes will bulge if you have). There are two downsides: the size of the pad when packed up (it's much bulkier and heavier than a 1 inch thickness pad) and the amount of effort required to roll it up (which is certainly doable but is much more difficult than a 1 inch thickness pad). I found that the best way to do it is to roll it up, leave it uncorked and then lean on it to get as much air out as possible, then cork it, unroll it, roll it back up (this time much more tightly because there is less air), near the end uncorking it again to let the air that you've managed to push to the end to come out, then cork it. It ends up as tightly rolled as you'll get it without herculean efforts although it does take a minute or two longer, and in the end, it's still quite a bit more bulky than would be ideal (and it's going to weigh the same regardless of how tightly you manage to pack it). UPDATE: I used three of these pads for myself and kids on a two month trip and they worked PERFECTLY. None of them failed in any way and still look and function as perfectly as when we first got them. If I could give this item 6 stars I would!

Easy set up and comfortable
I have used a 1 inch thick dense foam pad for camping for many years. I am a desert camper and sleep on hard, rocky ground. I am also a side sleeper and the foam made it almost impossible to sleep on my side and I always woke up sore. The Kamui mats are so much better! I got two and snapped them together which worked really well. They unroll and self inflate in a few minutes and then I add air. They offered great protection on the hard ground and I was able to sleep on my side. The material seems very durable and the mats appear to be well made, but I would not recommend using them on bare ground as they may puncture. The deflation/ roll up process takes 3 or 4 minutes to do as you have to slowly roll up the mat to push out the air. I have read some complaints about this process taking too long, but there is foam inside the mat so you are pushing out air and compressing the foam and it takes a bit of time, and thats that. The mats come with 3 elastic straps to keep the mat rolled up as well as a storage bag. In my experience elastic does not last and so I am going to make velcro straps instead. The elastic bands are also a little clumsy to put on after the mat is rolled up. Rolled up they do take up some space in my Jeep, but the level of comfort they provide is worth it. I bought the wider size ( 25 inches) and two put together was still a bit small for two people. But 25 inches is a standard width with camping mats. Also I had no issues with them losing air over the 3 days I used them. I'm very happy with the mats and think they are a very good buy for the money. I think I will get many years of use out of them.

SUPER comfy! SNAPS ARE KEY - put FOUR together (2 on top, 2 on bottom) to USE AS A FULL-SIZE MATTRESS ON A LOFT BED!
These things are AWESOME!! I didn't actually buy them for camping or even for traveling (though I think I may replace the Aerobed my daughter uses when we stay with family with this), but instead to use as an actual mattress for my daughter's new loft bed. I didn't feel like spending $400 on a 6-inch mattress from PBteen, and 6-inch mattresses are hard to find around us (I tried Mattress Firm and Mattress Warehouse, and I couldn't even ORDER them there!). So I bought two of these at first so that I could snap them together side-by-side and use them as a full-size mattress, and even though that was really comfortable, I wasn't sure if it would be comfortable ENOUGH to be used on a daily basis....So I bought two more and snapped them together in the middle, and then I stacked them on top of the first two, and what was REALLY cool about THESE is that I could ALSO snap the ones on TOP to the ones on the BOTTOM along the outer edges, so that FOUR mattresses could be snapped all together so that none of them can shift or slide - now how COOL is THAT?? Obviously that would be great for camping, but it works great to REPLACE A REGULAR MATTRESS! (at least on my daughter's bed - I'm not sure about two adults on it long-term, but I'm definitely comfortable lying down on it and sleeping with my daughter for a while when I put her to bed every night) I put a fluffy mattress topper (Duck & Goose brand, bought here on Amazon - also awesome) on top of these, just to make it all SUPER comfortable for daily use, and it IS - DEFINITELY will NOT need to buy her a pricey regular mattress now! (and the important thing is that, with stacking these 2-inch pads PLUS a 2-inch mattress topper, it ends up being a 6-inch "mattress", which is what I needed!)

Kamui self inflating sleeping pad
So the quality of the pad is good and it does help while sleeping on the ground but it is too narrow. I tent camp and haul my equipment to the site in my truck. This would be fine for backpacking.

Perfect for car camping with a cot.
Update: two years in and this pad is still 5 stars. I even used it during a heat wave to sleep on my livingroom floor by the AC a couple months ago. I'm about to go on another week long trip and so thankful to have this pad. The first thing i set up is my cot and the sleeping mat. I let it self inflate until early evening and then i close the valve. I do not add any extra air to it as i like it to have a little squish when i lay on it. This pad is perfect for me. I use it on my cot while camping. It inflated perfectly and I originally put too much air in but was easily able to reach up and deflate it a bit one handed while staying cozy in my sleeping bag. I've only used it on one trip but it was for 2 weeks. No leaks and it was also easy to pack up for the trip home.

Worked great while held air - now all four leak.
Worked great - for a while These are inexpensive and comfortable while they hold air. We bought 4 and after a couple years all four deflate fairly quickly with leaks we can't really find or fix (seems like value area). They were all stored inside in a cool dry place. They are still better than nothing, but we will be purchasing something different in the near future.

Worked great!!!
I wasn't too sure about this item. Bc so many people were telling me to spend $100plus on a mat. And I really didn't want to. First time using it on a 3 night camping trip. So if it didn't work it would have been a horrible time. I did like that you can snap two together. I did air these up prior to using them. And let them aired up for about a week. Mainly bc I kept forgetting to deflate them. But, we got to camp set up out tent. And this was the very next thing me set up were the mats. To make sure by the time we were ready for bed they would be ready. I did see they have a lifetime warranty. So make sure you register. But I'm very pleased!!

Empfehlenswerte Iso-Matte

Self inflating
Love the colour and way it can be re rolled after use. Comfortable and as expected. Great colour, self inflates. Perfect for scout camp. Happy with purchase. Bought another brandbefore but the straps tore the mattress and I has to throw away. This one is much better quality and easy to use.
