Close enough for a fringe instrument.
So I bought these for my Schecter Hellcat VI. I had searched for the stock strings with no luck. LaBella makes a set specifically for the Hellcat and they're very nice, but at โ$40 per set they're a bit pricey. These Ernie Ball stings are nice. The tension is better and tone are better than the stock strings were. My only issue is that the low E string did not have a tapered end and the string almost does not fit through the hole on the tuning peg. They work without needing to make any modifications, they could just be a bit better.

Not For Fender/Squier VI, Works Perfectly For Dano/Gretsch
A lot of the negative reviews seem to be people mistakenly buying these as cheap replacement strings for their Squier Bass VIs. Thatโs not what theyโre for โ your silly vibrato ruins everything. On a Danelectro Baritone/Bass VI, they are absolute perfection. Perfect E-e feel and intonation with no fuss. Awesome for tic-tac. Iโm not an Ernie Ball guy for guitars, but you canโt beat these for Bass VI. And while weโre on the subject, the Danelectro version of the Bass VI beats the snot out of the Squier and Fender models. For good reason too: they invented the instrument, while Fender just copied it and added a useless vibrato. Donโt spend $400 making the Squier playable!

90 string barley makes it to reverse headstock
Great strings. Turned baritone to deep bass 6 but if u have reverse headstock the 90 string barely makes it to tuning peg hole.

Best choice for Fender and Squire electric basses
Besides the obvious choice for short scale (30โ) basses I just used a set of these on a modified scale (24โ) 4-string bass that I use for practice at home. Also theyโre a little less expensive than the signature brand. Ernie Ball strings are on half my collection of instruments and one of my favorites since 1970.

SQUIRE VI FENDER VINTERA VI
Several reviews state that these strings are not long enough for Squire and Fender Bass VI. I have used these strings on both models with no issue at all. They are definitely long enough and have length to spare for these guitars. The price is right and as always you can't beat Ernie Ball quality and sound. You won't regret this purchase.

Look!
Ernie balls are legendary, but requires you to change strings every so often, had mine on and still on a month later with heavy playing , itโs still has plenty of brightness you get from new strings, Iโm guessing with heavy playing and so on theyโll probably last about 90 days , maybe more depending on your preference, I play my Bass VI like there a guitar , I have no sympathy for those who think a bass guitar in general canโt play like a guitar, I play the hell out my bass VIโs and Iโm only an octave below a guitar.

Too short for a Bass VI
I have a Squier Bass VI, and bought these to replace the lighter gauge OEM strings. Stupid me assumed that a six string bass set with small ball ends in these gauges would be for a Bass VI without checking the actual length of the strings. THESE WILL NOT WORK ON A SQUIER OR FENDER BASS VI. The taper on the low E is below the nut, and the highest two strings won't even reach the tuners. Ernie Ball customer service confirmed to me that these will not fit and they don't make anything that does.

Convert Squier VM Baritone JM to Bass
I used these to convert a Squier Vintage Modified Baritone Jazzmaster to a 6 string Bass tuned E to e. I had to drill the low E string slot through the bridge to make wide enough to pass the thick windings of the E string through. I also had to cut the nut a little using the string as a guid and some sand paper to allow the new strings to sit properly. These strings ended up working good for me and have a good amount of tension for my purposes on this specific guitar. If you are ok with modifying your Squier Baritone guitar and want to convert your guitar to Bass VI tuning, then this will work for the guitar model mentioned.

Updated review to correct mistakes made by me
Update: As said previously by myself and others, these are for v-short scale 6 string basses. However, when using them to re-string my vintage short scale Jedson 4 string bass I made a mistake. I had assumed these strings were for a barritone guitar and were for guitar tuning EADGBE and so I used the bottom 4 strings. In fact these are for v-short scale basses and are for tuning BEADGC. So to rectify my tuning problems with what I thought was my E string I will get another set of these and instead use strings 2 to 5 i.e EADG. These packages are mislabeled by EB but so long as you know they are guitar scale with small ball-ends then they are perfect for the job they are intended for. They will not fit your full scale 6-string bass as they are actually a set of heavy strings for a barritone guitar. I actually used these on a 1973, 3/4 scale Jedson Telebass. I used the bottom 4 strings (E, A, D & G) and they fit really well. So if you want to re-string a very short scale bass such as the Ibanez Mikro then these are fine. But really these are for barritone players.
