Absolutely Delicious Coffee
After spending 3 weeks in Portugal and seeing the Delta signage at cafes where I enjoyed wonderful espressos I decided to look into Delta coffee products. Boy am I glad I did. This ground roast variety, and the decaffeinated version which I mix together for a half-caf produce the best coffee I've ever had in my home. I've always refused to dabble with espresso machines and Moka pots because I like to have a hot pot of coffee available throughout the day, and though running the coffee through a filter excludes the oils (high in cholesterol) that would give it the body and creamy head that I'd get with those methods the flavor is still there using my coffee maker. It's a perfect coffee to drink without sugar or cream. No bitterness whatsoever, with a hint of mocha and even caramel flavors. I mix 4 Tbsp for 4 six ounce cups, run the coffee maker on strong (slow) brew, and give it some attention while it's brewing to keep from developing a crater. This coffee is ground very fine so I can only brew 24 ounces at a time without the filter overflowing. But I've learned to drink it more as I did in Portugal with smaller servings and I'm enjoying it much more than I did my previous Starbucks home brews. And because the shipping time is a bit long I'm re-ordering once I open new packages. If I get tired of that process I'll probably just move back to Portugal 🇵🇹

Heavenly Aroma!!
I have had the pleasure of drinking this very coffee/espresso numerous times in my trips throughout Europe. It is a well sold and recommended brand. I've seen signs in restaurants in Europe advertising Delta brand too! I prefer it as an espresso and it produces decent crema, but it is good in a drip coffee maker and french press too. This is authentic and real brand. It took a little longer to arrive to me but so worth the wait! This brews smoothly with an absolutely heavenly aroma! There is no bitter afterbite and no harsh acidity. It is finely ground. This is Portuguese coffee entirely produced in the Azores. The archipelago is known for its “very favorable conditions” that yield “extremely high-quality” coffee. People with sensitive digestion often drink this one. It is the most beloved Portuguese coffee brand, and you can find it throughout the whole country, both in supermarkets and coffee shops and extending into Europe.

PRE GROUND
Did not realize it was pre ground (my fault, too lazy to read description). Item shipped quick. Not sure about the taste, kind of pointless to have pre ground if you want authentic bica taste, UNLESS you have a moka/stove top or proper setup in your espresso machine. Package is about a half lb, which also I expected more but again didn't read desc.EDIT: I tried the coffee today. I put it in a non pressurized portafilter basket in my gaggia classic. I got decent crema results, nice chocolately colors. The taste is really smooth, it reminds me of kopi luwak in terms of smoothness. Maybe because I have been drinking a lot of local roast so by comparison it's really smooth and sweet. I will try again with a pressurized basket to see if I get good results and more crema. The pull time for the shot was about 15 seconds for a little under 2 ounces, with a 14 gram non pressurized basket, and a 30 lb calibrated tamp. I will try harder tamping or switch back to the pressurized. In the picture on the right is some local roast ground up with a gaggia mdf on (I think) number 5 setting, and on the left is the delta. The delta grind is actually pretty fine considering it's pre ground. In fact you could have trouble with a moka or a French press although I stopped using those long ago. I could try different brewing methods and make a video I suppose. I would love to find this in whole bean. I think I will stop buying local and get delta. When in Portugal I asked a lot of people the best coffee, they all said delta, is better than illy, buondi, and lavazza. Portugal coffee preference is not as bitter as Italy or other countries. I have not been to Italy yet but my theory so far is Portugal has the best coffee, in terms of smoothness and drinking straight espresso. Another factor I did not take into account is the age of these beans, which will affect crema production. I did see some white fuzz in the grind I first thought was mold, but there is also some other trash looking items in there, like husk or some unground particles. I can examine this with a microscope and edit back to this review. Overall, changing back to five stars.

Worth the wait. received a free gift.
Ordered this coffee wasn't Prime but didn't mind waiting. when I received the package, I was pleasantly surprised to find a extra Delta Coffee with Columbia whole beans as a gift. Awesome. would buy again even without Surprise.

Excellent Coffee
I fell in love with Portuguese coffee when I visited the country, and this is the closest I can find. You can taste the difference between this coffee and other coffee at top popular coffee shops.

Disappointed.
This coffee was stale. I drink this brand when in Portugal, but was disappointed with this order.
