No flavor, just green water, I recommend passing on this one
I wanted to try loose leaf genmaicha tea because I absolutely love the bags (Shizuoka brand) but I wanted to reduce my waste a bit. I ordered this brand because after doing some research, the overall consensus is that it's a reliable brand at an affordable price range with quality. However, when I received the bag, it had no aroma. Even my tea bags had some aroma. I brewed it at the right temperature and seeped it for the recommended amount of time, and it was... underwhelming. It was just hot water dyed a shade of green. I was extremely disappointed. I brewed it two more times, and it was the same experience. When you brew it, there's suppose to be a savory, beautiful aroma that comes to life, and I didn't get it. It just smelled of boiled water. It was dull, lifeless, and not fresh. I was so disappointed and got a refund. I made a trip out to an Asian store in my area, and I did find Ito-En Genmaicha (10.6oz bag) and it was so much better. The savory aroma filled the air, the tea was a beautiful shade of green and had the delicious and calming taste I loved and it relaxed me quite a bit. I can't recommend the Ito-En genmaicha enough, I say skip this one and go get Ito-En's!

My Favorite Tea
This is my favorite tea brand and very smooth and flavorful. I have yet to taste a flavor that I didn't like. There is a lot of history behind this tea brand.
