Hubby loves air popped popcorn... but needed a delivery system for the popcorn salt he loves so he doesn't end up DROWNING the popcorn in salt, causing it to be inedible!This fine mesh shaker is nicely made, and really has a fine mesh suitable even for fine popcorn salt. I'd buy it again... in fact, I may need one for my powdered sugar :).My purpose in reviewing this and other items is only to provide my honest opinion based on my experience with the item. I don't use this for sugar, I use this to hold my homemade dry shampoo (cornstarch, baby powder and cocoa powder). The size is perfect and I love the plastic lid since I keep this in my bathroom and have a tendency to knock things over. I've even washed it a few times with no issues.However you have to be careful when removing the lid to the shaker, there's "L" shaped locking groves that can be a bit hard to unlock at times, but with a little patience and gentle twisting they do eventually come unlocked.You also have to hold the shaker at a certain angle otherwise way too much powder comes out. You can't hold it straight upside down, you'll make a mess, but if you tilt it just a bit, it works perfectly.

I wasn't expecting much, I don't really understand what people think they are getting at this price. I needed a shaker for cinimon/powdered sugar, and this is perfect. It's not paper thin, it's not made out of aluminum or even feel like alluminum. Definitely steel, not heavy duty by any means, but it doesn't have to be. It's not a violent use kitchen tool. I'm sure it's a low grade stainless, I have no way of telling. I'm assuming it's at least food grade, but I know it's not surgical steel. I think it's worth what I paid for it, and I'm happy with it. It serves it's purpose just fine.

This 4 ounce container is of good quality. The canister itself as well as the plastic cover are both sturdy, and the mesh top is for effective for dispensing powdered sugar, which is what I use mine for. It might work a little more efficiently if the mesh portion was rounded instead of flat, but if you angle the container the right way when using, you'll have no problem. One other thing I'm not nuts about is that it's a tad difficult removing the top portion for refilling or cleaning. It's not a screw top but rather a twist top that takes just a little bit of muscle. I wouldn't recommend this for someone elderly who may not have a strong grip. Other than that, I'm really happy with it.

The mesh on this is very fine. You cannot use it easily for flour as the flour plugs up the mesh. Go with the "all purpose shaker" made by endurance if you are looking for a flour dredger. This works fine for powdered sugar and I expect it would work fine for powdered cinnamon. In fact, I may use it for a cinnamon/powdered sugar mix since anything that tastes great with powdered sugar is likely to taste even better with cinnamon...Just note that I do not believe the plastic cap is airtight. It does not fit all that snugly. If you really need airtight you probably will need to put cling rap over the shaker before pushing the top down.

I had a set of copper shakers and needed the stainless to differentiate the contents. The copper have cocoa powder and powdered sugar in them. This one now has ground cinnamon in it. While the mesh lid is easily removable, I compensated by simply removing the cap with a clockwise turning motion every time I open it. I also use the same clockwise twist to put the cap back on! It is perfect!!

Only complaint is that the plastic storage lid cover doesn’t seal as tight as I’d like. When traveling to my kids house with it, I had to tape the lid down to prevent spillage. Otherwise a very handy item indeed.

the cover came with it and I could not get the cover off so I had to cut it off so now I had no cover which was one of the reasons I purchased this then the powder suger came out too much too thick and a power puff was in the air just terrible not happy with this later I tried to sprinkle a cake you have to do it lightly and on the side and then it is ok don't tip the whole thing over and shake than it will be thick for a dusting on side shake very light for a sprinkle look some will get stuck to the mesh just pound on the jar I covered with plastic not too bad it will be ok
