Fun and accessible for young kids
I used to think that the Monopoly games were all the same endless, family-breaking game with different name/pictures for the streets. Boy, was I wrong! This Monopoly gamer has many variations from the original game, making the games funnier, shorter and simpler for young kids. The game has well-known characters form the Mario and Donkey Kong series, each of them with their unique skills. During the game, the players can buy and sell properties, but also use their skills to make their rivals drop coins on the board that they can later pick up. On top of it, every time a player passes Go, there is a "boss fight" with special bonuses. After the eight and last boss fight, the game ends and the player with the most points wins, so the game does not last forever. All in all, the feeling in this game feels a lot like Mario Kart, with a mixture of skill and luck. My six year old had no problem to learn the rules, and my wife, who normally does not like board games, found it fun enough to play it with us again. Be aware that while the game comes with four characters, there are expansions pack to add new characters with additional abilities. We bought Toad during a sale, and do not really plan to buy more. But if you like the "complete" feeling, you can consider one of the listings for the collector edition or bundled with all the characters. Mario Meets Monopoly with a Twist
A wonderful twist on a classic game. Our 6 year old enjoys playing during family game nights too. If you enjoy the Super Mario franchise from Nintendo and enjoy Monopoly, then would be willing to bet you will enjoy this too. You can also buy additional characters to play with for about $4 at Walmart or Target (amazon wants $10). The more characters you have, then you can play additional "Party" modes as described in the instructions. This adds another level of strategy and complexity. Worth every penny and is the top family board game at the moment. The idea of buying and selling land are still very much a part of the game. In fact, you are encouraged to do so in order to when the game. The only difference is instead of playing until you have everything or nobody has any money left, there are a set amount of turns. By turns I mean every time you pass Go, you fight a boss card. There are so many boss cards and when they are all gone the game is over. This is great to make a very short or very long game. Completely up to you if you in that regard. Game time usually takes all 3 of us about an hour to play. Best way to see how it works out is to visit YouTube. There you can see how the game is setup and played. This is what we did in addition to all the reviews and that did it for us. We just waited for a deal after that.

A More Fun and Better Monopoly
Got it for $10 around Christmas. A lot more fun than regular Monopoly, a bit different too. Also a lot faster than regular Monopoly. My nephew who is 6 loves to play it, just a little hard to teach him what auctioning is and the relationship between the coins in the game and points. I wish the coins were plastic rather than cardboard like the collector's edition but it was fair for the price. You can buy additional characters and each character has their own ability for when you land on a power up star, but additional game pieces are OUTRAGEOUSLY expensive and character abilities sort of add an "unfairness" to the game. All a game of luck really, sometimes a little logic and of course you can use some math skills when counting coins. The coins rather than money bills and properties without houses and mansions make the game so much more enjoyable and less a pain to play, setup, and manage. You get 1 number die and a special ability die with cards that tell you what each ability does. Each character has an enhanced ability and a special ability for when you land on a star. Comes with single coins and coins that represent 5 coins. Property cards, boss cards (for when you pass Go!), and character cards.

A great version of Monopoly for people who don’t like Monopoly
This is an excellent game for fans of Mario or board games in general. Don’t typically like monopoly? No problem! Is one of your problems how some games of monopoly can take days to finish? This game solves that issue by adding “bosses” that are fought each time a player passes go, and with only 8 bosses, you know there should never be a game that lasts any longer than 8 laps around the board (and that’s assuming one player in a 2-player game rolls 1s the entire time 😂). Is one of your problems with regular monopoly that it’s nothing but roll and move and chance? This version actually requires a bit more strategy. The game is set up like a board game version of Mario kart. When I hit an opponent, do I go for the one in front of me, or behind me? Would it benefit me more to use my special ability before or after I move? Each property and boss are worth a set amount of points, and while coins/money is worth something at the end of the game, having the most is not the main objective. There is much more to consider in this version than simply “do I want to buy this property?” Note to parents: This game does not require as much math/change as regular monopoly, so it serves well as a bridge between monopoly Jr and regular monopoly if you’ve got a younger crowd.

Perfect for Kids of all ages
I have kids ranging between 3-12. They all love this game. I like it because the younger ones can understand and it’s great for them to practice their math skills with the coins vs the Monopoly money. Also, the points you get with each property or battle card helps for the 2nd grader to practice their math skills. But besides an educational point it is fun. Much easier than regular monopoly. Good family game, just wished there were more than 4 player pieces. But it’s perfect amount for the 4 kids I have but my husband and I do need to team up with the younger kids if we all want to play. But to be expected since it is aimed towards the younger kids. But still fun.

Excellent Innovative Game
Great board game. Cleans up a bit of the tedium of traditional monopoly with simple rules, item dice, and special abilities. Normal round of monopoly you're sitting there zoning out, waiting for your turn, but in Gamer edition you have to pay attention to coin drops and items, and learn the art of convincing other players why they should shoot someone else with the red shell. I wouldn't recommend two players as the squid, shells, and pow tend to have extremely similar effects. I like that each character has a unique ability, Donkey Kong's sucks in 2 player, Princess Peach's gets really strong late game but sucks early, Yoshi's has the most variance, and Mario's is the most consistent. My only complaint is that when you're down on cash, the rules state you have to sell your property for coin drops which feels like a slippery slope and makes it hard to stay competitive. For rent that's fine, but you can get hit with 3 items in a row on a bad round be forced to sell property which doesn't sell for much retail. Other than that, the game is strong, much shorter than monopoly and more engaging. Absolutely worth $25.

È in inglese !
Il gioco ė simpatico ma purtroppo in versione inglese. Si riesce a giocare ugualmente ma sarebbe stato meglio chiarire la versione non in italiano. Consegna sempre puntuale di Amazon.
