So happy with these umbrellas!!! So easy to put together - so sturdy - great quality - and customer service was amazing - I didn't need any service but they kept in touch with me daily yo make sure they were delivered on time and in perfect condition, and then to see if we needed any help with putting them together - but we didn't - super easy! So glad we bought them - perfect addition to our backyard!

I searched and reviewed hundreds of umbrellas and settled on this one. My research kept bringing me back to this brand. Here is why I chose this particular model over others:The company is relatively close to my home in SoCal, I love the rectangular shape, several colors, 360 degree rotation, weather resistant painted aluminum support and struts, UV protected fabric, waterproof, and the base INCLUDED (these run anywhere from $200-500)! You can deploy the umbrella fully or partially, at an angle to maximize shade depending on where the sun is located. Note: No cover included, but those are reasonably priced from this and other vendors.The product came in two boxes (one for the umbrella and one for the base). It comes 90% preassembled. You only have to assemble the main mast and the base. The instructions are straight forward, simple to understand and the required hex wrench is included with the hardware. The umbrella itself is NOT too heavy but you ARE required to lift it to place it onto its stand. You MIGHT require the assistance of an additional person to do this part. I recommend using a small ladder or utility stool for this part. If you are elder and/or cannot lift heavy objects know that the umbrella weighs between 50-60 lbs (the box indicates 60lbs, but has a basic stand that you WONT be needing since you have a separate base). Once it’s on its stand and the base has been filled with water it is easy to deploy. You 100% absolutely need to have the base filled or it will tip over. DO NOT FULLY OPEN THE UMBRELLA UNTIL THE BASE IS COMPLETELY FILLED!! The instructions also provide detailed instructions on permanently attaching to a metal base bolted to concrete, a wooden patio deck or into the ground. The equipment required for this is NOT included. You need to order it separately. Finally, I do NOT recommend leaving it opened overnight or when you aren’t around to keep an eye on it. This umbrella is essentially a HUGE sail and the wind WILL lift it regardless of the water-filled base. So, BEWARE. Finally, apart from a separate cover, you might give strong consideration to purchasing and apraying the umbrella with “3M Scotchguard UV Outdoor Sun and Water Shield”. They are yellow cans and are reasonably priced on Amazon. I used one can per umbrella (I purchased two umbrellas). For the cover, I purchased the 96 inch “Duck Cover Umbrella Cover.” Unfortunately, it only came in brown (shown in photo), but that’s OK. You might be more particular, so you will have to look around. Just remember it needs to be 96 inches tall and about 13 inches wide.A final thought: this model has a STRAIGHT (vertical) main mast. There are others that have an arched mast which, depending on your need, could be a better choice for you. If you do buy one with an arched main mast, you will need a cover that can accommodate that type of umbrella. The one I am showing above will NOT work for an arched umbrella main mast.As a suggestion to the manufacturer: perhaps you might consider adding an additional metallic/reflective layer underneath to help reflect the solar heat. The dark color absorbs the heat from the direct sunlight, so although you are under the shade, you do feel the radiating heat.Hope this review helps!

Great umbrella. So far it’s holding up well in the Arizona sun. Appears very sturdy and secure.

I spent my first year of retirement re-landscaping my patio home outdoor living space. Early on I added some furniture to our deck and soon realized I needed a nice large umbrella to provide shade from the hot Florida sun. So I purchased this umbrella from Purple Leaf and am very glad I did. That said, there have been some small issues to deal with, but fortunately their consumer service has been outstanding.The first problem arose just a few days after setting it up. I purchased the heavy duty water/sand base and set up a ground platform using concrete pavers so I wouldn't have to use up any deck space. However, I only filled it with water the first time and when the first stiff wind blew with the umbrella in a vertical position, it was blown over. Fortunately there was no damage to the umbrella or the base.To address this I got two bags of play sand and after draining the water, filled it with mostly sand and then topped it off with water. Since that time the umbrella's been very sturdy and I have not had any issues with it getting blown over. It handles a firm breeze very well, as it will rock back and forth with it, but not violently. Of course, when it gets very gusty, I do not leave it up, as it has it limits and it could break like any umbrella in a wind storm.Then one day I opened the umbrella and the main bracket to the primary pole had snapped. It also pierced a small hole in the canvas. I honestly don't know how or when it happened, so I contacted Purple Leaf, whose office is in France, I believe. As such, whenever I sent an email, I received a response overnight.In short, I was sent the appropriate replacement parts, including a new canvas, without hassle and in a timely manner. The repair was very straightforward and easy enough to do myself.So based on my experience, use sand and water in the base, keep it down when the winds are strong, and you'll be very happy with this product. Know that it's backed by a company that actually cares about it's customers.

This is an attractive umbrella but if I had to do it all over again, I would order a different style (curved with umbrella swinging gently). The arm that the umbrella is attached to is straight and even with the slightest gust of wind I get nervous about it getting damaged; I can hear it creaking so I never leave it up when not in use. The color has stayed pretty true and the base is very sturdy.

Super easy to put together. High quality materials. Being able to tilt it and rotate allows you to be able to move it with the sun to create shade any time of day. Works just as well and looks just as nice as a more expensive version. The only downside is the base being so heavy that it’s not easy to move it around but having it be stable enough to stand up to wind, kids, and animals messing with it is way more important.

Easy to install great price made very well and sturdy

I purchased two of these. Both 10 foot octagonal. They were great. My 5 foot 2 1/2 inch wife can manipulate the umbrella and deploy it and crank it back in and get it stowed away without difficulty.The worst part was dealing with wet sand, and that is the only thing carried by Walmart, Lowe’s, and Home Depot. For my last bag, I remembered that there was an Ace Hardware near me, and they have sand which comes in a modified plastic burlap bag. At least at the Ace Hardware near me, THAT sand was dry, and that makes ALL the difference when you’re trying to fill the base for the umbrella stand! One part arrived broken, and the seller responded quickly when I reached out, and I had a replacement part on my doorstep within a few days.I have also purchased a double wide umbrella from purple leaf in the past for different application at a prior home. It also worked phenomenally. Great products! In both of these situations, these were able to provide similar shade to a retractable awning, but at a significant savings.
